Yes! Black women have been doing this since the 70s and 80s, my Nana told me she used to do it back in the 70s (her party days) and topped it off with a picked out afro and gold hoops. That was THE look, we've done it forever. Yet again, people act like it's brand new and act shocked everytime they see it. If anything, the black women I grew up around ONLY used this combination, because they said it looked more natural to their real lips. I love how the brown from out skin fades to our lips and then fades to pink. Natural ombre lol

I have a very tall forehead and far-back hairline, so NO WAY would I do a slicked back bun!! 😂 Your hairline almost touches your eyebrows, and your face is very oval shape (proportional/balanced), so I think it looks good on you! ☺️ I agree with other people though, that this is just the "no makeup, makeup look" renamed for the millionth time, haha

1) Darcei, you looks wonderful as ever girlie! Glad to see the return of Black Girl Tries!!! 2) for me? The "clean girl" aesthetic is just what black and brown girls did when we had no makeup brands catering to us. We didn't have foundation in our shades, so we didn't have an emphasis on base makeup. Just clean and moisturized ("glowy & dewy") skin. No real eye makeup available to us (that weren't weird icy shades) so we made do with lashes and maybe a basic brown eyeshadow. Barely any everyday lip shades, so a lip liner (or sometimes, an eyeliner lol) and some gloss Literally just making it work with scraps. As usual. (We still made it look good, tho)
