Ever been in a loud, crowded place and hear your name? It could be across the room, and they could be calling some other Angela, Sandra, or Rita, but your head still turns? No matter who you're talking to, or the loud story in your mind, you hear your name, and your head turns.
This is the power of awareness.
You're aware of your name, so you heard it. But if they called another name, you would have missed it.
Most of life we miss because it's not on our radar. If we're not programmed to hear something, we miss it. The alternative is equally sad: if we're programmed to see evidence of failure, not being loved, not supported, or evidence that we never have enough money, or time, or that we're unhealthy, we'll see only that (and miss equally solid evidence that we're successful, loved, supported, rich, and healthy).
