I think a lot of people who are reviewing Korean products forget that Koreans who typically would use their products may not have the same diverse skin types, tones, etc like we do in the U.S. so the products may be reflecting those differences, in their target audience. Just saying.

Hi, Barbara. I'm not forgetting that. I am reviewing for a primarily American audience and whether it will work for them.

Jen...regarding cumulative environmental impact ... you are probably better off letting it go down the drain if you are on a municipal sanitary sewer system. Their reclamation plants are able to scrub and treat most chemicals from the sanitary system unless you are dumping a ton of nasty stuff (literally) down the drain at once. Before the treatment plants discharge they go through rigorous testing through the various phases per EPA regulations. The likelihood of the minute amount of chemical entering groundwater from a contained municipal sanitary system is negligible. However, if you throw your cotton pads out they most likely go to an open landfill and are exposed to the elements where the chemicals get into ground water , are filtered through natural attenuation and the pads decompose (creating byproduct of methane gas) so that has its own issues. Even municipal incinerator systems have their own concerns with regard to air quality, etc. Honestly, down the drain into a sealed municipal treatment plant probably has the least environmental impact.

I wear this BB cream in shade 13 and I love it. I wear it on hot days because it does not get that weird icky feel some foundations get on sweltering days. it gets in the 80s and 90s down here in the spring and summer.

I am very cool skin toned so I love the touch of grey in the color. Most foundations read too orange on me. Costco had this for awhile. Only 2 shades but it was quite inexpensive. They currently have a different brand, also quite inexpensive for 2 bottles. Online, I don’t know about in store.

Great review! I'm probably in the minority and it's totally not a big deal but could you start maybe testing these BB creams with a blush/other face products? It's helpful for me to know if products play nicely with others. Completely understand if that's not your thing! But it rounds out the review for me. Thanks Jen!

I came across this bb when I did a search for the Holika that you reviewed. I ended up ordering both just to try. The Missha arrived first & I noticed the strong floral scent right off which wasn't a surprise since it had been mentioned in the reviews. I initially liked the bb cream although it had a dewier finish than I normally prefer. I wanted something that was moisturizing, had light to med coverage & at least 30spf. I keep my make up & skincare separate due to sensitivity issues. Anyways, the fragrance started really bothering my eyes so I stopped using it. Turns out I prefer the Holika Cotton Candy Pore Cover better. Maybe because my skin is drier or I do use a primer but I get great wear time out of both bb creams. No wearing off/breaking up around the nose or transfer. I push loose powder into the bb cream with the damp sponge & use a "hydrating finishing/primer spray." I remove my makeup with micellar water & cotton pads until clean then wash with gentle cleanser so i hope if I'm using products with that ingredient it's going ingredients the garbage & not down the drain. I try & avoid dimethicone as much as possible because it causes milia, especially on my eyes. It's very frustrating finding eye cream or skincare that isn't swimming in silicone/dimethicone etc.

Jen i am so sorry, I should have been a little more specific. I was not trying to say or imply anything about your review, that's why I said "some people who review", and not "Your review" I promise, my comment was not anything negative about your review at all, I liked it quite a lot actually. I was actually commenting about other reviews I have seen, and i meant this as more of a request that maybe you could address this concern for us, to keep in mind as we consider the products, and or, to hear your thoughts about the differences in the products as opposed to the US products, if I'm making sense.

I wish this stuff didn't make me itch so bad. I like the way it wears and looks, especially in the heat like another commenter mentioned. But it irritates the living daylights out of my skin. I found my holy grail BB cream/foundation... and it was discontinued like five months after I found it. Story of my life with makeup. Everything I like is discontinued shortly after I find it, lol. It was the Skinfood Good Afternoon Berry Berry Tea. Perfect shade, perfect medium coverage, never broke me out. And nothing since has really lived up to it. I liked the Holika Holika Aqua Petit Jelly - in terms of wear, finish and coverage it was really really good but it's soooo light in shade. The Skinfood Peach Sake one is also pretty good, but the shades don't work for me. You'd think they would, being from the same manufacturer as the one I liked, wouldn't you? But nope. As far as the skin care benefits - I figure that for any foundation product, that should not be where I get my main source of skin care. If it's included - terrific, but I don't think there's enough of it in any foundation/bb/cc creams that it can eliminate my skin care routine. So to me, it's a benefit, but not a necessity. I want the foundation to match me in shade, wear well, not settle in my pores, wrinkles, around my nose. I want it to not separate, or look like an oil slick. If it does that, then I'm not too fussed about things like sodium hyaluronate, or plant extracts. Just my two cents.

@JennB6 жыл бұрын
Searched your videos hoping to find a review on this product! So I keep hearing that it's such a great product to use especially because it's a bb cream and it has sunscreen in it. One and done. My question is, I know you said you will not be using this because it has an ingredient in it that's really bad for the skin if you have open wounds... this being said, do a lot of foundations/bb creams have this ingredient in it, or is this RARE for a makeup product?? I have very sensitive skin and I've used this 3 times. First 2 times were fabulous! Amazing coverage for me, loved the spf and it held up really well under heat/workout etc. the 3rd time however, my skin started to burn and looked pretty dry by my chin/left side of my face. It did not hold up well and looked pretty bad by the end of the day. I use an acne cream prescribed by a derm on occasion when I have breakouts and this will dry out my skin. I used the acne cream twice the two days before I used the Missha for the 3rd time. SO I'm wondering if the acne cream was drying out my skin, then putting the Missha on top just amplified it and made it worse. I'm SO sad if this is the case bc I'm searching for the perfect all in one product that will hold up under heat/humidity plus have decent coverage for my acne prone face PLUS won't break the bank. Anyway, I know this is an older video and I'm sure you have SO much on your plate, but I would love any advice, if I should keep using the Missha and see what happens or just stop and return it to Walmart. I, like you, work in segments when trying new products. I haven't changed up anything in my skincare routine or makeup routine, other than I'm using a new setting spray, the Milani Make it Last and it contains alcohol. BUT I've also used the L'Oreal setting spray and UD All Nighter A LOT and they both contain alcohol as well so I don't think it's the Milani setting spray that's irritating my skin. Anyway, if you're reading the end of this comment, THANK YOU! :)

I don't know what Mac 20 shade is but with Missha, get shade 13 if you are ivory or otherwise very fair. Shade 21 fits most light skins people and if you tend toward the medium, get shade 23. Jen was using shade 21.

If we can't wash our face off with water due to certain ingredients, maybe we should just not buy the products containing them. I hate to be Debbie downer but even if you throw away the product remnants on a towel, it will go to a landfill which will get rained on which will rinse the chemical off the towel and drain it into the ground water. Just Saying. I'm not a tree hugger by any means but it just seems l Ike there's no getting around the negative effects of that ingredient. Maybe these products containing this chemical should be recycled like batteries?? Idk. Still appreciate you sharing Jen. 💜 ☺
@jenluv7 жыл бұрын
I totally hear you! This ingredient has been shown to be especially bioaccumulative in sea life, so that's why I caution to wash it down the drain. I'm not sure if the towel will get rained on in a landfill no matter what, but if it were, it would be seeping into the ground rather than into a water where animals may live. And I'm not saying you CAN'T wash it off. It's just information for people who are especially conscious of what they are washing down the drain and whether it can harm wildlife. These are people who may also use biodegradable shampoos and things like that in order to leave less of a footprint.
@e.starling1417 жыл бұрын
Yeah. I suppose I'm not someone who often looks at the ingredients of cosmetics I'm buying. However, since you've been doing ingredients analysis it's definitely given me something to think about, and I know if I wanted something you reviewed and it had questionable ingredients like this one I would just skip it. So thank you for being so thorough!
