Thank you for coming to our channel. Our intent is to educate people who seek to travel in the outdoors and to explain the dangers and how to mitigate these. In this weeks video, David explains the souther Montana cluster of missing people that include the recent disappearance of Tatum Morell. There was a massive search for Tatum and she wasn't located during the primary search. It is with a heavy heart that we report the following message from Search and Rescue: Read the full news release from Red Lodge Fire below: After nearly a week of intense search efforts for missing hiker Tatum Morell in the mountains near Red Lodge Montana, rescuers now believe it is unlikely she is still alive. Rescuers have been searching extensively since July 5th for Tatum. Mountain rescue teams, search dog teams, and ground search teams have put hundreds of rescue hours into searching the area, including searching all possible routes, mountain peaks, ridges, as well as the area around her tent. Search efforts included multiple aerial searches by Red Lodge Fire Rescue, the Yellowstone County Sheriff’s office, Two Bear Air, the Army National Guard, and Gallatin County SAR. In addition to ground and air searching, the rescuers used multiple high resolution visual and infrared cameras, cell phone tracking, and Recco technologies. Tatum’s family has been in the area providing detailed information to search managers. Rescuers have been searching the rugged mountains that rise above 12,000 feet since July 5th. The challenging search area contains countless rock fields, car-sized boulders, scree fields, and snowfields. Searching the area requires technical experience and advanced backcountry knowledge. The size of the search area and the difficulty of the terrain makes searching extremely dangerous to rescuers. Tatum Morell was an avid and experienced hiker who planned to climb 5 mountain peaks over 12000’ in the West Fork of Rock Creek near Red Lodge Montana. She had prepared for these hikes through a lifetime of backcountry trips and adventures with her family and by herself. She backpacked into the area, camped at Shadow Lake on Thursday, July 1, and contacted her family via an InReach satellite communicator that evening. While Tatum was not due to return from her trip until last Monday, July 5th, search managers determined that she left her tent on Friday morning, July 2nd to summit a 12,000 foot peak. She never returned to her tent. It is believed that Tatum had a tragic accident and was unable to activate her inReach device. Based on the conditions, terrain, search effort, and the time she has been missing, her family, Red Lodge Search, and Rescue, and the Carbon County Sheriff’s office believe it is not likely she survived. “Unfortunately, there are hundreds of thousands of places that Tate could have gotten into trouble on these rugged mountains when the storms came into the area on Friday”, said Incident commander Tom Kuntz. “After the extensive search efforts, we do not believe she survived” ©2021 David Paulides, NABS LLC Twitter- Davidpaulides @Canam Missing Project Our first documentary- Missing 411: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071JZDHKG?pf_rd_r=NCNKVAJXAN6YYY533H7M&pf_rd_p=5ae2c7f8-e0c6-4f35-9071-dc3240e894a8&pd_rd_r=1439c059-3279-4373-a353-45e97e83c710&pd_rd_w=FkPYS&pd_rd_wg=TdhUr&ref_=pd_gw_unk Our second documentary-Missing 411- The Hunted: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oZnagYmhpLxrf6c David's Bigfoot Website: www.nabigfootsearch.com/home.html Purchase Point Our sister site where you can purchase the Missing 411 books: www.nabigfootsearch.com/Bigfootstore.html Our Missing Person Website: www.canammissing.com/about_us.html Our youtube channel with 125+ videos: kzbin.infovideos

As someone who has consumed David's research since 2015, I'd assume it's the people who believe that he's exaggerating original reports and making connections between cases that don't exist, strictly for personal monetary gain . While I don't subscribe to these beliefs, David's detractors have been alleging these things since his initial books dealing with the Eastern and Western US.

I'm always taken aback by your humility, and respect for the victims or people you talk about in your videos. For instance the latest young woman to go missing, Tatum Morell, to whom I sincerely hope she is found alive soon, but I give you so much credit for not attempting to make capital gain from her disappearance, and especially the kind and heart felt words in which you describe her and her current situation. Finding someone on the internet these days, who is both honest with their audience, whilst still acting as a decent human being towards others, to whom may have suffered a sad loss in their lives, is indeed rare, but you do this with every video you post, kudos to you David. I love the beautiful Montana scenery Dave. When it’s hot in Minnesota you know it’s hot everywhere! I miss my native CA home but could never stand the crowds in my 60’s. Thanks for warning young women about hiking alone. When I was young and invincible I once drove up highway 70 above Oroville to swim alone at a water hole only to find some guy had hiked down beside where I was and was watching me. I’ve never felt so vulnerable in my life and left as soon as he looked away. It’s not fair, just how it is if you’re a female. So so sorry about your son. I can’t even begin to imagine your pain. God Bless.

Seven years after my dad passed, I was sitting at a random stop light and a wave of grief hit me. Didn't see it coming. Although there were many waves of grief like that before, that was the last one I had. I say embrace it. Don't deny it. It's what makes us human and what helps us continue on this beautiful adventure called life. My dad passed in 1994 and I miss immensely. I'm glad you and your family have Missing 411 to focus on. And you help us by sharing their stories and that in turn makes us think about being safe.

I had a daughter who lived on the street off and on for several years b4 she died last summer. In British Columbia during the 1990’s Robert Pictor murdered 49 prostitutes (possibly an addiction 40). It wasn’t that LE didn’t care, it was just easy for them to overlook it. I suspect, if the missing are being taken, the takers are interested in a variety of individuals. That is all👍🏻.

al oberdorf There are plenty of hunters that have disappeared and their guns did not help that fact. Plus if you are in the middle of nowhere, who is going to hear 3 shots? It is a very remote area. And first of all 1 week is not enough search time in my opinion. Plus if there was bad weather while she was out...does that cover up any scent that dogs would use to track her?

@@AudriannaB-World-Peace good questions. Since the age of 6, I have spent the greater part of 66 years here in the mountains of Montana...Mostly packing protection. I have never had to use it, but I am not a weekend warrior. I live here year round, have hunted and trapped and foraged every year since the late 50s. I am very aware of my surroundings usually, and listen to my senses. I have had many situations where I am not comfortable, my solution is to leave the area. As for the missing...as Dave points out, Hunters with guns and location devises do not often disappear. An ounce of prevention is lighter than a pound of cure. As for scent...many factors are involved....but dogs are as fallible as people...who knows. I hope an answer is near.

@@troopahhikes. Is it possible that they called off the search simply because they can only spend so much money on one search? I don't know, but I agree, it seems too soon to call it off. But I'm wondering if costs played a role here. Financially, they can't keep searching forever. I don't understand how they can't search the radius of one day of traveling from her tent. How far could she have gotten? She was planning on returning that same night, so cut that distance in 1/2 of how far she would have gone. It doesn't make sense to me that they can't find her, unless they assume she was dragged away. That must be what they are assuming.

Hi Dave. I just want to say that you are doing good work and don't ever stop. Apathy is rampant in this world today. As for the loss of your son, my heart goes out to you. I lost my brother, who's name is David, almost four years ago. I can tell you that grief is a rough ride that has no end. It just sort of kicks your ass and then settles in a corner of your mind and never leaves. I didn't get counseling, and all my "friends", and even my family didn't want to talk about my brother's suicide. So I watched alot of youtube stuff about the grieving process. This is what I believe. My brother is alive somewhere. He is being loved and taken care of. He doesn't want me to cry or feel guilty any more. That is not helping him on his journey. It takes a long time to get over this kind of loss. I cried every day for a solid year. I love your videos. Thank you for sharing so much with people you don't even know. Take care. You are loved, too.

Any way.....Have a good day! I always enjoy your presentations.

Always bring a whistle!!!! It might be completely over the top, but I think I'm going to try and find a flare/signal gun and start bringing that as well. No idea if it will help me, but it's the peace of mind.

@@jonstrahan410 I just started watching Dave, and his videos. I really had no idea. I need to finish the video before I speak more, but after spending lots of time in the woods with a personal beacon and Tatum still hasn't been found is very... alarming to say the least. I carry a 9mm and a personal beacon and standard survivability gear, but doesn't seem like it would help much. 🥺

About what law enforcement sometimes says to pacify the public - I covered a missing man case 19 years ago for a local paper in Georgia. The sheriff first said he drowned and was in the creek, which initially sounded reasonable. Then after part of the initial search (including with FLIR) and after the creek was diverted and drained, the sheriff said he committed suicide. Then after the remainder of the initial three-week search, along with another search two months later and a third search (all with a total of hundreds of searchers and multiple dog teams) a month after that, the sheriff again said he committed suicide but had likely walked several miles away to kill himself. Thing is, almost nobody in the community believed him. Bill Farrer has never been found. And yes, his disappearance included several of the Missing 411 parameters.

Hello David, I have been eagerly waiting for your video with thoughts on Tatum’s disappearance. I am a Montana native who grew up in Missoula and currently reside in Great Falls. My father has a masters degree In forestry from the U of M in Missoula and I have spent every summer since 1975 in either the National Forests or the National parks- camping old school was cheap. I have always been fortunate to have never had a point of separation with my family while out, and I tell you our dad took us deep into woods very few people knew of to explore. I must say your videos are phenomenal and I have been following you for several years now. As a local I want to thank you for your work- you have managed to portray the reality and mysticism of our state in a way that few others are able to capture. Thank you kindly, Sara Hutcheson

I started watching your channel around the time the pandemic started. I never knew about any of this. I appreciate that you state facts succinctly and don't lead people to conclusions. Quite the opposite. I would be interested in your opinion of all these various dissappearances. I am so sorry about Ben. You had a father/son relationship that many others would envy, the closer you are, the more painful the loss. My parents buried 3 of their children and my mother told me that sometimes you grieve at different times and different levels. Praying for you and your family. (Sorry so long)

(SAR-Carbon County) Search and Rescue volunteers, It is with a sense of sadness and relief that I inform you that the body of Tatum Morell has been located. The state SAR helicopter is coming in tomorrow morning at approximately 10 am to retrieve Tatum. Her body will then be brought to the Red Lodge airport at approximately 10:45 am. Tatum’s father will be there for this. I am requesting that all available SAR personnel be there as she lands at the airport. Please wear your SAR jacket and and/or shirt. I am very proud of the dedication and support RLFR members have demonstrated during this difficult search. Thank you

Tatum Morells body was recently recovered August 22nd 2021 in the area of White Tail Peak to what “appeared” to have been a rock slide from an area that was searched before. "Finding her, especially buried in that rockslide answered a lot of questions as to why our ground crews could find her, why helicopters couldn’t find her, and even why search dogs couldn’t find her. That helps us a lot with putting the pieces of the puzzle together," said Jon Trapp, the assistant chief with Red Lodge Fire Rescue.
