A quick word on this episode to save some folk some comments and provide context for those curious about BTS stuff. There's a bit less commentary and energy than usual, yes, I'm aware. Next one gave me MUCH more to work with. This was, in essence, a "reshoot" episode. I had started the mission once already (different enemy pods / layout though thankfully as XCOM shuffles those a bit), got most of the way through it about up to where I *might* have seen the gate, had it not been then for an overwatch lockup bug from the G-Virus Birkins that bricked the session, and continued to lock when progressing the turn on a reload (thankfully the ironman save didn't kick in as the overwatch action hadn't finished, thus resetting to the action before i.e. me pressing "End Turn"). Thankfully I was just about able to spawn an evac, console my guys over to it and leave. Then quit out, uninstall the mod and re-begin the mission from the Geoscape without too much incident. Foolishly I IMMEDIATELY tried to restart and record the new mission, meaning I ran much later than my usual cutoff time. I was tired, a bit jaded, the freshness had left the air and the mission went on forever due to shenanigans. Not the best material to cut up for highlights, but since the mission is a plot one. I can't exactly leave it out. I've made the best of it that I can in the edit, and wanted to delay release til the next ep after was ready. But hell with it. Let's just put it out there - sorry for the state it's in, but the next one is the Tower. And I remember that one being good - so let's crack on!

After everything that's been happening recently, let's just call this one a "Breather Episode" to relax and cool down before things get real again next time. They can't all be gold - you're *really* good at this, but like you said, the game just didn't give you anything to work with here. And with the Chosen gone, too, you don't even have them around to liven things up. I will say, it's almost a shame you've already recorded the end of the campaign; a mod just recently came out that has all three Chosen show up one last time, in the final chamber of the final mission, *even if you've already killed them,* and they all show up *together,* not one at a time.

I like how the biggest most powerful enemy in the mission just summoned a few chryssalids and then left. The queen just wasn't feeling it.

I played this game a lot and I am glad to see an interest still exists. I used no mods or cheats on my first 6 playthroughs. I found the game poorly optimized. War of the Chosen was far more optimized and much more fun to play. I really like the mods that addressed and fixed the problems with the game (which I started using from playthrough 7 and on). Only real weakness of this game was a lack of a GOOD tutorial for those gamers not familiar with TBC (turn-based-combat). Two thumbs up for showcasing this fine game from our recent past. Happy Gaming, and many thanks to the great modding community for their fantastic mod work on this game. SALUTE!

Hey OEM what is your body running on during this, it most certainly isnt sanity... Love your content, just finnished the forge and went straight to here. My own playthrough is hitting several setbacks mainly because of the instability that is XCOM and running gameplay altering mods on top of configurations to increase enemys to an insane level as well as a little bit of conflicting mods that I already trouble shooted X-Amount of times.
