So the grandparents did not raise the parent? Look how that turned out (according to you). I dont know enough about the parents to make any kind of judgement here, what I do know it's illegal and very selfish to kidnap a child, let alone your own childs child. If my adult child was struggling that would be my first concern.

Yeah, you can. Decades not knowing where your kid is. Whether he's dead or alive, must have been hell. Great that he was not taken by some psychopath and abused on murdered, but that is no excuse for what they did. If they were decent people and they thought there was a issue with his parents, they would have worked to get him legally. Not just snatch him.

That's going on very little information and a lot of assumptions. It's entirely possible that his father was abusive towards his mother but she was financially dependent on him, and thus ended up living out of her car when she left. It's a situation that's sadly all too common. Doesn't mean she was a bad parent, and it certainly doesn't mean that she deserved to have her child taken from her in such a horrifying manner.

Threw their lives away? Please stop it!! What they did was def an Act of love n they saved his life by running off with him. BUT they did not throw lives away. Having young ones around you is the greatest gift ever!! When we get older our kids move out n start their own lives, and we find ourselves in a quiet empty home that was filled with love, laughter, activity, and we dream of having those days back. Having children around at ANY age enhances your life. My 80plus grandma wanted to have her hospital bed set up in our living room because she loved the excitement of a house full of crazy teenagers, deputies chasing them thru the house (for silly stuff, and it always ended with even the deputies laughing n having fun). That's life in a small town/island. Grandma didn't want to miss A thing!

If you're willing to go through all that to save that little boy's life, then we should all by praising these grandparents. You see a lot of horrible things while doing social work. I can say with near-certainty that the life he would've endured would've been beyond difficult. Not to mention becoming a pawn in his parent's separation his whole life. That’s why unhealthy people should never have kids. And also they should go to therapy. Sad, we live in a world where anyone can have a kid. And most people are not prepared. The kid ends up suffering and their lives get ruined. I have a 1 year old, gosh, she is so smart. I bet all 1 year olds have this amazing potential of being awesome. Humans are naturally smart. But, all that potential gets wasted when they have bad parents. Also, people forget, “good” people can be bad parents as well. And that to be a good parent you don’t have to be perfect. If only people who deserved kids would have kids this world would be completely fixed and so quickly. Sad but true :( I always wanted to do social work but I just couldn’t even imagine having to witness this type of stuff, makes me so mad. People who are not good parents. And thankfully that kid had someone willing to do all of that for his safety. I would do it too.

In my opinion this needs to happen more often. I have worked with children for 20 years now and the sad reality is biological parents are given chance after chance to become good parents but more often than not they just ruin their kids childhood if not worse. Too many times children have lost their lives because the courts gave them back to unfit parents. I'd rather be tried for kidnapping than feel like I stood by and let my grandchild be hurt because the laws had failed to protect them from an unfit home.
@cyndigooch1162
@cyndigooch1162 2 жыл бұрын
Autumn Braley I totally agree with you because I experienced a horrendous childhood with my extremely troubled parents, due to their own unhealed childhood wounds. I had a younger sister and brother and we were placed in foster homes, or stayed with relatives for periods of time, but wish I could've stayed at one of the other places permanently! I ended up becoming pregnant when I was 16 years old and did my best to look after my precious daughter, until things went horribly wrong, which led to relinquishing her when she was about 13 months old. I attempted to get her back not long after she went to her new supposedly safe family, due to the devastation of the loss. It didn't work out though. I mainly wanted to mention that the adoption hasn't been viewed favourably by most people, including my daughter, who is 44 years old now. In fact, she absolutely despises me and has been abusing me, including death threats, on and off for many years. Luckily, I live in another country because she might've assaulted me, or much worse, by now. She stopped contact with me about eight months ago and it hasn't been easy at all, yet it's for the best. Hopefully, she'll be able to do the healing work on her trauma issues sooner rather than later. Another point is that family members and others have judged me harshly as well and say that they don't understand why it happened, even though they don't even know the full story. Unfortunately, the adoptive family wasn't very healthy either, hence why my daughter has suffered a double whammy, so to speak. I know that many adopted people do have huge resentments towards the parents, due to their abandonment issues, which is understandable and there's no guarantees anyway. 😥

I can't imagine how I would have turned out had my grandparents not intervened, got social services involved and fought hard in court to have full custody of me. They spend thousands of dollars everytime my mother would haul them into court to attempt to gain custody of me and they literally gave up their retirement by sacrificing their time to raise me properly. They gave me well over what I needed. Whether in this situation the grandparents were wrong or right from abducting this child against his parents will, I can say from experience he definitely was given a better opportunity then what his parents could have. In fact, more parents should lose their rights to raising their child since for the most part, it continues to throw children who turn into adults into society with addictions, trauma, poor coping skills, poor financial habits and more.

This happened to my niece when she was 5 years old. Her grandmother took her from the fenced in front yard and she never returned to her mother. It was the best thing that ever happened to her. She is a nurse today. Had she stayed with her real mother, she would have not turned out so good. We all missed her for years, but eventually got to see her.

I get what you’re saying but you can’t just kidnap kids from their parents. It’s illegal for a reason.

Soooo when was the question raised. "Where the fuck are my parents?" Come in to play when your son just so happens to dissapear when they do? It makes no sense.
