I don’t understand how people are just clueless stating that she just drowned. If you are kayaking with your friend and your group and suddenly your friend sees you drowning, what would you do? Try to Help? Call for help? Call the police ? Guess what, they did none of this. Like what is the big deal about someone drowning to the point you don’t wanna say anything about it and ask for a lawyer? They quickly went back to their hotel and immediately took a flight back to the US. Even the company that rented those kayaks to them were not informed of this incident. In fact, they were running away so quickly that they didn’t even pay for the kayaks rentals and they were gone. The kayaks company called their hotel the next day morning to request a payment where they were informed that they left immediately. No reporting anything to anyone. Just over 24hrs later that any of this was known and the only thing that the person that was kayaking with her said was that she drowned and since then, she is done talking to the police or anyone else. The whole group is not willing to talk to anyone. Is that normal ? What is the issue here? Someone is dead and you can’t even make a statement about what happened? What do they have to hide? That’s unbelievable and people are so clueless and say that she just drowned. The entire Lake was searched for 3 weeks already and they couldn’t find any traces of her. How is that possible? Only the people that were with her know what happened and if they don’t want to talk, they should all be arrested immediately. And now they are asking for a lawyer? That’s is just outrageous. If someone is drowning in front of me, I would be screaming my guts out! I’m sure anyone else would do the same. It’s a popular lake with tourists and boats all over. If someone is drowning, they just don’t die. There’s plenty of time to be saved. If you can’t swim or help, at least call for help and that woman didn’t do that and that’s why she is afraid. I can’t believe people would be so clueless. Some people are even saying that she was not responsible for that young lady so why did she have to help. Like seriously? You see someone dying and you do nothing to help just because it’s a stranger? Do that and you will end up in jail if your own conscience will not kill you first.

Witnesses saw her jumping to the water, like I said this is a dangerous lake, I been in this lake and locals would not dare get in those waters, there are claims of currents under these waters, I would also point out that these locals respect the lake, it has taken many many lives, this would not be the first or last time.

I also don't think it's fair of a former FBI agent to say it's 'suspicious' the other people returned to the USA, and it's a 'red flag' they got lawyers. Umm... they probably don't want to be labelled as a murderer especially in a foreign country wtf. Would the FBI agent stay indefinitely in Guatemala on a yoga retreat if she was only meant to be there a week, and she only met this poor girl a couple days ago briefly? It most likely is an unfortunate accident.

Yeah maybe a boat hit her by accident and killed her while she was swimming and didn’t want to say anything reminds me of the ski resort that killed a fellow Canadian because their snowmobile likely ran over the guy during a snowstorm and left him for dead. Claiming he returned his equipment to the ski lounge and just missing. Years later they recovered his body and found that his equipment wasn’t returned and he was stuck in a pothole and his bones are damaged similar to a snow plow running over him.

A lot of people in the comments talking about how dangerous this lake is and that she wasn't wearing a life jacket. I've lived on this lake and swam across the west end of it from shore to shore on 3 different occasions without a life jacket and it wasn't dangerous. Boats called "lanchas" ferry locals and tourists around all day into the night. It's possible a boat hit her too, but where is the body? If she drowned, her body would have surfaced by now.

We had to send someone to meet with the cult people to get the wallet back as they wouldn't cremate friend without ID. In the end, they intended that friend bankroll a "retreat" in Costa Rica and that's why they were going to sue.

"Lee and Elaine Beal, owners of Kayak Guatemala, spoke with ABC News and said the yoga group consisted of 10 people, including Nancy. They set out on the water that morning. The couple even shared a photo one of their employees took of the group. "When the group returned, there were only eight that returned, but we could see in the distance, a distance of about 100 yards, two single kayaks," recalled Lee. Those two kayakers were Nancy and another woman. "We watched them as they continued paddling until we lost sight of them," he said. That's when a distress signal was called in. "I witnessed the survivor being ushered up the steps with the yoga instructor. She was clearly distressed, and they didn't say a word to us," said Elaine. However, there was no sign of Nancy."

based on simple mind individual like you, you have limited theory on the cause of her missing. Your first mistake is that, you believe she drown, there are no evidence. 2nd mistake is, you assume she's missing by swimming or kayaking, what you see in the video or presented by other is that, she was "reported last seen". She may have finish, return to her cabin, and took a stroll some where." 3rd mistake, you limit yourself to other possible scenario that may have occurred, just because the media showed she's at a lake, swimming kayaking, doesn't mean the cause it the main cause. There are many incident, that may completely change to different scenarios, involving other people, could be self inflicting.

I'd be finding and interviewing that person she went off with. Unless that's one that's deciding not to talk. It sounds like they could be the last one to see her alive. Look it's most likely that she's dead. It's just a matter of finding her body now and cause of death. So sad. I do think people let their guards down when they travel and people know this and capitalise on that fact.

Reports jumped in water swimming. How are electronic locators going to help. Seriously, she didn't go missing from a hotel. And maybe the people at the retreat had to get back to jobs. Why villianize them, sounds like she went alone. I'm sure they said what happened or law enforcement wouldn't know she was swimming and possibly drowned. I watch a lot of this channel and this reporter was ignorant.

Yeah, I'm surprised there isn't more info about the person she went with that's saying Nancy jumped into the water. I mean, how do we know that person is giving an honest account of what happened? Was it a guy that made some advances towards her and then got angry when she turned him down, so he either intentionally or accidentally caused her to drown. He could've hit her and knocked her into the water and she drowned because of that. I also didn't see any info about her kayak being recovered. A lot of missing details.
