To be fair, even UNSC carriers were armed with MACs and SMACs which allowed them to fill a Battleship style role in a battlegroup in a pinch.

The problem is that the UNSC has no room for superheavies beyond the level of the Valiant. It's just too easy to eliminate heavy ships with ventrals and missile spam.

There IS space for a battlecruiser in my opinion, basically a big cruiser hull with ODP grade SMACs bolted on, to act as a fleet sniper ship/hunter-killer

4:52 one thing to account for is that larger ships usually have more powerful macs. A MAC on a cruiser is more powerful than a MAC on a frigate. So I presume the change in doctrine was more to split the firepower among multiple different smaller ships instead of a few larger ships that are bigger targets and arguably just as vulnerable to covenant weapons.

The only nitpick/conflict i would potentially point out in this is that the vindication is supposedly/was retconned as, a post war UNSC design coming into service not long after the war's end and boasting many technological improvements such as energy shielding and integrated forerunner technology like many other post war ships such as the autumn class. However i do agree on the idea that there is a noticeable lack of heavy combat vessels that fill a battlecruiser/battleship role and arent necessarily a hybrid carrier/battleship like the Epoch or Punic

I like that I found your channel. Good info, nice pace, not bogged down with unnecessary 10 minute filler. Only critique, the voice modulation was too flat. There were no high notes and there were no low notes to vary the tone. Other than that, it was all good. Subbed

I feel like the Valient-class was an excuse to have a Battleship, without actual calling it one. "Super Heavy Cruiser" sounds cooler than "Battleship" which in the modern day is considered an outdated ship. Even though its not that much larger than a Cruiser, the Valient-class is for all intents and purposes a Battleship. As a side note, I also think the name "Super Heavy Cruiser" is stupid and over the top. I would have preferred "Battleship" or "Battlecruiser" I would have even settled with "Super Cruiser", but I think strapping multiple prefixes to a ship type, especially if both prefixes are related to size, is a bit overkill

I also have a theory that due to the early appearances of the Vindication Class, as well as it’s unusual design, that the Vindication is perhaps an older warship, older than perhaps any other ship in the Fleet. Designed as a large warship capable of supporting fleets far from Colonies, back before the UNSC was as well established.

Honestly the carriers prove battle cruiser and battleships in early covenant war would make sense imagine all that space make room for more armor Mac guns and why did the UNSC not try to develop at lease a battle cruiser class of ship is beyond me

I'll just say that while I'm enjoying this video, it gets a little difficult to understand what you say at some points because you seem to mumble some of your words by speaking too quickly and they get lost in the recording. I can understand what you convey eventually, but by trying to figure out what you just said takes a second to do and that usually means I miss what you say next so I have to replay part of the video. Still, this isn't a knock against the overall quality of the video, I'm just 2 minutes in and this is fantastic, but please, if you can, slow your speech a bit.
