I might be wrong but I believe the reason his nickname is Johnny Vegas is . We have a wonderful actor/ entertainer whose name is Johnny Vegas & he starred in a tv programme called ( Ideal ) where he played a character who sold weed. So I believe this is why the nickname.

@@DeniseGarrish-r9u While it is sad, Jay was no stranger to the drugs world and criminality.....if you mix with that world you are exposing yourself to dangerous situations and dangerous people. However I do believe he was taken advantage of in the club, if you've seen some of the pictures of him and one imparticular.... he was totally out of it and in no fit state to make wise decisions....but then that was his problem all along.

Tenerife has some nice places, very scenic and quite beautiful infact, but it also has a very dark criminal underworld and is rife with drugs. British dealers fighting with Mafia for control of the drugs trade there. You have to be very careful about being scammed and especially at night as robbers are always about to take advantage of someone who has had too much to drink. It certainly wouldn't be a place I would go to, but it's not just confined to Tenerife. Jay is the 11th person to 'go missing' there just in the last six months but some missing person cases go back decades.
