This is Slim Butte in NW South Dakota on highway 79. On the map it's east of Buffalo, SD.

Some quite hilly terrain out on them thar plains. Big furore going on Down Under with the leader of the opposition advocating the use of nuclear energy for zero emissions base load energy to replace coal power. The US has 93 nuclear power plants with 2 more under construction. There are 60 under construction worldwide with most of those being built in Asia.SMRs or Small Modular Reactors are favoured in Europe on the site of and inside former coal power plant buildings.

The nuclear energy industry came to a screeching halt here in the 1970s thanks to Three Mile Island. But it is starting to make a comeback. Locally we've been seeing a few coal plants shut down. I think coal is dying, with or without nuclear energy.
