Hey everyone, Dr. Funk MD here, and I'm finally back with an update on why I've been MIA for the past few months. In this video, I'll be diving into the reasons behind my absence and sharing what I've been up to in the world of Gielinor.
First and foremost, the Hero Pass debacle left me feeling a bit disheartened, and the dominance of the necromancy combat style overshadowing others had me questioning my enthusiasm for the game. However, rather than stepping away entirely, I found solace in a different approach - going fully AFK.
Over the past three months, I've immersed myself in the art of AFK gameplay, focusing on four specific skills: Fishing, Firemaking, Thieving, and Fletching. These skills have become my virtual playground as I strive to achieve the coveted 120 virtual levels.

As someone who recovered the Master comp cape recently (yes, I only got 120 Necromancy now) I must say RS3 is over unless some big changes are made. With each passing month, the difference in treatment between OSRS and Rs3 is more evident. At least I don't see the jmods of OSRS team calling for people to be banned for political reasons.

"I don't feel like playing Runescape" -> plays for several hours every day. Personally, I'm stuck a bit at the moment and log in but don't actually have any progress. I love runescape. But Jagex doesn't give me the feeling that Runescape 3 has a good future. They say nothing about future content this year and events themselves I just don't find interesting. They keep the team small, even with the necro thank you post to all mods there were less than 30 employees if I remember correctly. Jagex has over 500 employees but you can't shake the feeling that the constant RS3 team is smaller than 15 mods. I play Ironman so I don't get constantly milked via MTX. But you just have the feeling that 80% of the development time is for MTX. In the last few years I've always played World of Warcraft for a few weeks and I think I'll do that in the next few weeks. We get maybe 1% of the content that wow gets even though the wow team is about as big as jagex as a whole. In short, you have the feeling that the board members only see RS3 as an MTX machine that needs as little content as possible. that will e.g. Made with time-limited events where I think that they need relatively little investment for a lot of time investment from the players plus willingness to pay for simultaneous MTX events because it only happens once a year. The whole thing reminds me of the early days of OSRS, where the team was so small that they could only do small events but hardly any real progress content. Jagex currently only seems to be willing to invest large amounts of money for OSRS and some other projects where they hope to develop the new Fortnite.

I guess i should really be saying dont feel like actively playing lol. There definately has been quite thr content drought which im sire has something to do with my feelings on the game

Same here bro, I’m legitimately not feeling Rs whatsoever. I’m sorta at that point now where my gaming tastes have really changed. I really no longer feel much in the way of mmorpgs in general tbh I just wanna play single player games. I don’t want to grind, I don’t wanna forever chase items, I don’t want the feeling of needing to log in. I just wanna jump into a single player rpg and know all my progress is static and I know ill get to the ending, a legit ending. Call me a boomer now lol but at the turn of the new year all my enjoyment of rs just sorta dissolved away. Its honestly so weird and sad tbh but underneath the surface i think ive been feeling this way for years now, only the community has been keeping me here. I think im gonna be hitting up some granblue fantasy relink and do the rs easter event but after that idk. Sorry for the mopey response haha catch you round bro hit me up on discord
