Zappa only ever worked with virtuoso guitarists, hand-selecting them (like Ozzy, like Alice), but Warren rarely gets the credit he deserves. Even here, way before MP were epic, his playing style is unlike anything else of the era, absolutely innovative on different levels. Terry was also always a tornado on drums, equally underrated. Watch their Us Festival set rom 40 years ago...left everyone else in their wake.

yeah but Zappa sucked, quit lionizing a dbag that wrote crappy weird music. There I said what everyone was thinking.

I second that emotion @jason! I loved MP! I'm from Michigan where many awesome artists made their bones & soon after ... LEFT THE STATE? LOL WELL? Bob Seger didn't for one! But I loved HOW HARD MP's songs were? Kind of punched you right in the mouth sometimes? Like the band L7? Their catalog also ... punched hard! And lyrically? The track,"Words"? About people not listening to one another? Yeah... more relevant RIGHT NOW than it was back then? Weird? One could dare call that, "a Classic" & get away with it! It appears to be timeless? The best music always is. Anyway @jason... GOOD CALL SIR🫡 BRAVO

The band was apparently credited as US Drag in this 1981 film. Since their 4-song 7'" came out in 1980 (as Missing Persons) and their two songs featured in this film are on it, I wonder if they went undercover here as they didn't want to be embarrassed by the film. Or maybe they didn't have their name yet while everything was being recorded? Whatever, it's a great, raw clip. BTW - only Dale Bozzio, Terry Bozzio, and Warren Cuccurullo are from the band. I'm not sure who the bassist and keyboard player are.
