That’s the annoying part. I still shoot over 50%, but it sucks going from 8/10 from three one game to 4/13 from the field the next game because the latency got so bad my visual cue stopped working. It’s just random luck some games if you’re going to be able to shoot or not.

​@@Dimeworksorry but the servers are ass. Every game mode has a different shot timing, at least for me. I play theatre and I have to use set point, if I'm in pro am or the city I have to use push. There is no reason I make 5/5, 4/5, then go 2/6 or 1/7 the next couple of games. I didn't just magically forget how to shoot. I average 59% from 3 in Pro Am but under 40% in theatre and park...it just doesn't make sense.

It doesn’t take more than 2 games to find my timing when switching modes. But some people play the same mode everyday and want to blame the servers or 2K when they simply just can’t shoot. I’m tired of the excuses. If there was zero latency these guys still couldn’t shoot with any consistency.

What really made me understand how latency worked in 2k was trying to shoot freethrows with the meter on. The same delay it take for the meter to show is the amount of delay you need to expect when releasing the button.

It’s not just latency. Green windows move back and forth after each update even on mycareer. It’s noticeable not only on jumpshots but especially middy fades.

I took a break from 2k because of the New ToS. I come back practice my shot in MyCourt for 30 min. Do layups and playmaking moves to get the rhythm. I go to Rec and I go for 0/5 from 3 and missed some open layups. I averaged 15 points a game and I come back to 0 points. This continued for another 3 games. I’m done with 2k, they don’t make the latency problems a priority which destroys game play.

I can't even make shots practicing in the gym where we can upgrade/maintain our hot spots. Whereas before I drained almost every shot in there. I invested hundreds of hours and hundreds of dollars in the game only for them to let our jump shots go to hell. I'm done until they fix it.

I always find online mode to be a little slower than games played by yourself like mycareer. So when I’m playing games that involve playing with other online players like the park, rec or any event etc. I always put my settings back one slower than I would when not playing with other online players. Ex: when I play mycareer my setting is “set shot” but that same build in the Rec my setting is on “push” but I still look for the same visual as “set shot” because as I find the visuals are slower in when playing with others. Ex: because it’s slower visually jump is set shot, set shot is push and push is release ( because of that putting it on jump isn’t impossible but it’s mostly to fast to time and putting the setting on release is mostly to slow to time in places like the Rec, park and other multi players)

The crazy part about this is, I had a shooting guard with a 91 3pt.. and barely ever missed! Out of 312 Rec and pro-AM I was shooting 87% from 3pt! Season 5 haha I thought it was my internet because I'm barely shooting 70% put on my PF with a 75 3pt I'm shooting lights out!

I don’t have much latency problems since I been wired for a long time now but I think people get comfortable taking bad shots and when it doesn’t work they make excuses. I wish I knew the stat for my wide open shots percentage because I feel I make at least 80 percent of my open shots.

I think shooting is really really easy when your WiFi is good, I live in the country and have numerous people streaming, downloading games, or playing games on my WiFi + packet loss even when nobody is home. I run 79 3ball 64 middy and play guard in 2s and 3s in park. When no one is on my internet I shoot like 70% but when people are home I shoot like 60%. I’m taking off the dribble 3s with a 79 and it’s consistent for me so idk how people think shooting is hard whenever I have mid wifi and still fry people with a low 3 ball🤷‍♂️

Every year it’s the same culprit. I’ve sat yelling at my tv that my cue is literally WRONG. The problem is my direct Ethernet connection is super fast . The servers are ass. They overcrowded it hiding crossplay as some feature we would love but instead they put us all on them same ASS servers. This overcrowding has led to why it seems like there’s so many “sweats” on the game. 3 man squads dominate limited courts 24/7. Im simply saying that when a corporation this big owns a game some guy gets a bonus cuz he kept spending down by buying the cheaper servers. They have done it for years . This video is just proof it REALLY is that terrible. And some people somehow get less delay than others. Must be nice.

does shooting rating affect the jumpshot speed? cause when i use the same jumper on players that have a massive difference in 3pt their release speed is much different. e.g on a 78 3pt my release speed is an A but on a 94 3pt my release speed is A+

I think you're wrong about the shooting patches maybe it isn't on the main green window but the edges example: let's say tmac base has 70% make on slightly early and like a 60% slightly late pre patch (random numbers for this example i don't know the exact make percentages) and then after the patch it drops to 50% early and 40% late with the latency people will feel the nerf because we're not perfect we wont be hitting the 100% green window every time

I had a bad day Saturday shooting with tmac base. Ever since then, I'm back to normal. Try deleting and remaking your exact jumpshot. I do it every day. Also, if you are using wifi, that doesn't help.

This is what I figured out cuz I was having that same problem and what I have noticed if you have a fast A+ Plus jump shot when the server is acting up and you don't even know it that can fight through it just a really fast jump shot on top of that make sure your Internet is super fast like if you got Xfinity don't be cheap and get the top service possible And also if you have to use a USB cable to your controller the also minimize the latency

Idk what to blame at this point. I’ll go one day shooting approx 85% for a days worth of gaming, then the next day it’s almost like 2k is fucking with me bc I swear to you I will shoot approx 35-40% for a days worth of gaming. I know it’s not me, I’m consistent enough to confidently say that I’m not having good and bad days to this extent. Everytime I see that Update Required on the bottom of my screen, the gameplay changes and you have to relearn the game for that time being until the next update (the next day) changes the game again. Once you start tweaking the game settings, it’s never ending. I still miss 2K20. My thought was 2K was going to improve from 2K20… they have been going backwards ever since.

Latency on the jumpshot when you on the court but a game isn’t started yet it’s way off compared in a actual game or the Gatorade gym Do not try to test your jumper there the latency is different compared to when you’re actually in a game. The Gatorade gym is your best bet to test your jumpers with regular online latency .

Ive been shooting for 62 to 65 percent from 3pt for 4 months on a 6 6 builds then made a 6 8 build and also shot for 64 percent from 3pt with the same jumpshot on all builds and just this past week into season 5 I've dropped almost 10 percent its making me insane with lethal zones jumpshot boost added midrange sleeves evreything u can think of

You don't need a tutes video to know that it has been nerfed (though I am sure he could provide the numbers if he already has done the test), at least the meter standing dunk. But in early December when everyone has had ample time to get badges and attributes, I would never get kicked out of half bar green standing meter dunks. I am a standing dunk post scorer, and I can tell you that in the rush 1v1 event, I have gotten half bar green meters, released the timing inside the green window, and just ended up trying a terrible standing close shot

It should be just as they describe the release cue. Release the button at that cue. And they need to focus on making a game that is synced properly. The latency is and always has been the biggest issue with the game. We shouldnt have to go and get new controllers or become some IT wizard setting up certain networks and changing settings for their game to work properly.

I was shooting 60% from 3 now in rec I have consistently for stretches of games shot 1-6, 2-7. I rarely turned the ball over now I’m getting ripped soon as I put the ball on the floor. I grew up playing NBA arcades til this very day. Given 2K update something it doesn't mean it is directed to the shooting. Community should know that Internet connectivity nor connection flactuation are the main focal point of this specific subject and given majority of Players are not like NBA Jam that has the same release point. And the other varian of this is the Pro-Play mechanics.

Nor should I say, It is way better to have this kind of misses to get near the 12 mins sim realism. I do not play 2K to compete online, I know how brutal the online condition of this delicate game, I play NBA 2K24 for my ERA, or Offline with 2 controllers with a friend. That how we should play this to get the best out of this series, and I know for a fact that a lot of local Tournaments are happenning in this game. I literally turned my meter just to experiment to see why im missing shots that don’t feel mistimed and I literally got 6 full bar perfectly timed shots and still missed… AND i have proof. Btw i have a Center with 75 3pt and use to shoot 63% from 3 now im down to 52.9% from 3. So don’t tell me its me because I literally SAW them making me missing shots that I actually time correctly

Nah this is horrible. It should change the shot cue at least. I hate the latency. I still shoot great at around 65-70 percent from 3, but if I miss I want it to be MY mistake, not some weird 2k nonsense. Really makes 2k24 a bad experience for me even when I win. Then, you have the wild OP layups going in over the whole team LOL. I don’t be on the game much anymore , just not as fun as it used to be. Thanks for your hard work tutes!!
