I think one of the reasons why psychics don't come forward so often is because they in turn can become the primary suspect in a case. There was a case here in the UK where the IRA stole an expensive painting and a psychic described exactly where the painting was being kept. Unfortunately she became the prime suspect because she gave information that the authorities thought only someone intimately involved could possibly know.

The hunter and the rifle is understandable. When you’re missing and have a fire arm shooting three times into the air is known as a way of saying you’re missing and drawing attention. Sometimes another hunter (with a gun) will fire three times also to say they’re responding. Since he only had three rounds left he either didn’t consider himself lost at time of death, wanted to keep the three rounds in case confronted by an animal or the rifle had jammed or some other malfunction.

Makes me wish we knew what the condition and model of the rifle was. I feel like it would be pretty remarkable for his rifle to have encountered some kind of serious malfunction that would prevent it being fired. My personal guess is that if he had died at that spot early on, he may have fallen into the creek or the small pond and gotten soaked with water, if it was still liquid. If that were the case, he would’ve been dead within a few short hours. Longer if his clothes were made of wool rather than something else. Otherwise, had he not died for a couple days or so, he may have been wandering the area lost, and by pure chance had managed to avoid the searchers until he wound up at that spot well after they had already check it. Hence why they never found him when he was alive.

This guy does a good job presenting these mysterious cases, so I’ll chime in. Greta Alexander was a psychic in Illinois whose specialty was identifying medical conditions. She worked primarily with movie stars and was well respected for her expertise. She also consulted with police departments, who frequently sought her assistance on baffling cases. In one memorable case, she directed the Boston police to critical evidence. In a Firsthand account told by her, she guided them from her home in Illinois over the phone while they were driving. At one point, she said, “you’ll see a man on a horse ride by in front of you, take the next left.” The policeman said, “Greta, I’m in the middle of the city, there are no men on horses”. To which Greta replied, “that may be, I can only tell you what I’m getting”. The next moment, a truck with a large painting on the side of Paul Revere riding a horse drove through the intersection. Greta lead them to the bank of the river where they found the evidence. Many years after I heard Greta tell this story, I was on a work assignment in Louisiana holed up in a motel watching the local news one night. Half paying attention, my ears perked up when I heard “Illinois psychic Greta Alexander was called on by police to help the case....”. She had led local authorities to the body of a missing person. Greta also gave personal readings, and my mother went to her frequently when I was growing up. Having the logical mind of a scientist, even as a small girl, I always rolled my eyes when she’d return from a reading. For one of my birthdays in my early 20’s she gifted me a reading with Greta. I chalked it up to fun, like going to a fun house. I was tight lipped, telling Greta nothing. She appeared to go into a trance and began to speak, mostly using metaphores-“I see him stepping out the back door” and “you’ll be surrounded by doctors for the next 3 years, but dont worry, hun, you’re healthy”. turns out that during that visit home when I had the reading, my boyfriend at the time was cheating on me-stepping out the back door. I promptly forgot all she said and discounted the coincidence of the cheating boyfriend. Even after hearing her speak about some of her cases, I was still mostly skeptical. But when I heard that news report in Louisiana, and it dawned on me that during the 3 years of my masters program I was surrounded by doctors-PhD’s, and taking into account all the other her experiences and the accounts of other clairvoyants, i be ame more open minded to the possibility of something outside of our ability to explain. One thing that remains a mystery is that she said a dark skinned child would come into my life and be very important to me. I’m nearly 60 and nothing like that has happened. Maybe I took a wrong turn. Or just maybe i have special relationship to look forward to in my old age. :).

I think most “psychics” are a fraud, especially those that try to make a living at it. However, I do believe some are legit and more power to them if they can help. Having suffered a number of precognitive dreams, I think there is something going on in some people’s brains that we just don’t understand. I have never sought to see the future and never wanted to dream the things I dreamed. Sometimes it is completely innocuous and sometimes absolutely horrifying. I have no control when it happens and no way of changing the outcome. I applaud those that are legit for helping where they can.

@normacunningham89133 жыл бұрын
@James, I agree. How many times have you heard someone say, "I knew I should or shouldnt have done this"? And they think nothing of it. I think the way people are raised, has a lot to do with their ability. When you're little, you're always told it's your imagination & when people die, they're gone. And if a kid believes that. Its closing that door. Your mind usually shuts it off. There are also different ways people "see" things. Some see "people". Some have that overwhelming feeling. Some have dreams. And theres a combination of things with others. But if you try to use this ability for personal gain. You'll be slapped down. I've seen lots of these so called psychics, that are frauds. They're out for personal gain. Sonia brown, who was hyped up as being good. Was either slapped down, or a fraud. She made to many mistakes to be legit. John Edward's was just a total fraud. His show was cancelled, when people came forward about the nda's they had to sign before they could be in the audience of his show. But theirs one legit person that really stands out. Read up on the fbi "profiler" that profiled who was later identified as Ted Bundy. That guy was in Bundy's head! He even told the fbi what make of car bundy drove, the color & details about the interior of the car. But the "profilers" name was never mentioned. He didnt want to be known. Always trust your feelings & thoughts. Never use your ability for personal gain. Never let someone put doubt in your head. And never gloat and take credit for a gift that was given to you. Your ability isnt going to work all the time. Especially when theres other things going on in your head.

"what it hurts" listening to psychics (especially successful ones) is the control and prestige of the entire power structure. Things like that are beyond the power and grasp of physical and political jurisdiction, so acknowledging them sets dangerous precedent for eye-opening and mind-changing....and if you know anything about history or humanity, that's a good way to get yourself on the endangered species list ASAP. If someone is helpful in the place of investigatory helplessness, it would be almost innately perceived as a threat to their authority whether admitted or not, and they must act accordingly. This sheriff clearly was one of those. (This is in the abstract and I'm not slagging police or SAR etc).

There is/was a tv show that presents psychics helping to solve missing people or murders. Alot of it seemed really vague. But two shows had two different psychics that seemed to be able to sort of track the missing. One drew a map of a young missing child and said he'd find him in 1.5 hrs--he did. He was even looking in a different area than the searchers had been. He found him in about 1.5 hrs. The other was a woman who "tracked energy" of a kidnapped 17 yr old boy and she even had visions of what was happening to him. The kidnapper released him at some point and what she said was happening had indeed happened. So I too have always been skeptical but not close minded. Those 2 cases stuck with me as almost proof if the show didn't gloss over things or change some of the facts.

I just recently came across this channel, and I really appreciate it. Like many of your viewers I first learned about the crazy numbers of missing people from Missing 411, and David Paulides. I grew to question his accounts of the missing persons. He seems to leave out details, and over emphasizes others, like people missing around water, granite, people who are “off the charts brilliant”, or on the opposite end. Such “evidence” is anecdotal at best. Another example is the number of dogs that either quit too soon, or sit down and refuse to hunt. According to AKC success rates for SAR dogs are roughly 70%. That leaves 30 out of 100 cases that aren’t successful. There are some dogs, and dog teams that are higher than that. But, it varies. At any rate, I quit listening to Missing 411 videos about 1 1/2 years ago. Anyway, thanks for interesting and caring. By the way, I am not against crazy ideas. Have u done a video on the Carl Landers case? He has been missing from Mount Shasta since May 22, 1999.
@Missconduct044 Жыл бұрын
Paulides is not the “savior” as some people like to believe. He slants stories to his narrative. Bullies people who question him and/or try to help. The more I learn about him, the more I believe this is about money and nothing else.

I am truly flabbergasted by KZbin community. What is going on people? A channel with such good narrations, great artwork and stories that should be never forgotten deserves better support and following. After one year and such a great ensemble of uploads, just 18k subs is a travesty. Subs count should have at the very least crossed 150k by now. It is very important that these stories are remembered and never be allowed to disappear in dark abyss of passing time. That's because they're not any fictional creepypasta but rather about real stories of real people, real tragedies, grieving or rejoicing families and friends, about strangers willingly disregarding their safety for sake of another stranger and above all for that resilient undying hope of everything being all right in the end. Because e need much much much more of this care, compassion, selflessness and empathy towards every living being on this planet irrespective of their specie. Please share this channel with other people to give this channel kind of appreciation and recognition it truly deserves. Well it turned out to be a long ass comment. Sorry for this long-winded rant.

That drawing of the boys body in the grass, is essentially just a body surrounded by trees and nature, and probably resembles the vast majority of the area the body was found. The reality is, the drawing is meant to be vague enough that it could fit just about any random spot in the woods, this psychic just so happened to get lucky enough that someone found the body.

When it comes to psychic stuff I think it's not just something they can do at the drop of a hat, but rather it's something from some other unexplainable source that invades their headspace. That's why psychics don't just "solve stuff" all the time, it isn't that easy. Thry don't get to pick and choose when they're gonna be a hero or crack the big case... There's other instances of people who are totally normal getting an unexplainable urge to venture somewhere or take the back road and they end up finding or saving people missing/in trouble. they just happened to receive a fragment of crucial info "from beyond" so to speak. I think there's a few people who are much more susceptible to receiving those urges and info bits, and can be referred to as psychics, but there's a ton of swindlers who use vague guesses and assertions to prey on vulnerable people that cloud up the title

I did Search and Rescue (SAR) for about 5 years in Oregon. I truly appreciate the time and effort you, Mr. Martin, put into your shows and enjoy them very much. I feel most of your theories are spot on and people who don't spend time in the wilderness or back country don't understand the realities of accidents. That being said, I have throughout my life had many premonitions of things that were found to be true. I don't consider myself "psychic" and never had a premonition on a SAR mission. Why I had these premonitions makes no sense to me and I can find no reason they should. But the fact remains, I knew what I knew. How ever it came to me to know, I knew. Perhaps the "Psychics" as they are called in the media are people who had premonitions and made a call. I would never seek a psychic and I don't believe there is a person who is "all seeing". Thank you for your show.

My mother was some sort of psychic, but she rejected it strongly. She was approached by two friends via letters, German soldiers in the 2nd world war... as a young girl she playfully predicted the two friends to get separated and being reunited long after the war through looking into a shop window mirror. Thats what happened to them... years later. So they wanted to know more about missing relatives... she didt want any part in it.
@entothechesnautknight17622 жыл бұрын
On that first case, the sketch was fairly simple, the area contained no truely unique markers, and the debuty and his partner definitely had some confirmation bias going here. It could have been a lucky guess from someone who just had a weird dream, or maybe the person who originally found the body didn't want to be directly be connected to it for a variety of personal reasons, and pretended to be a psychic so that they could give the record anonymously without having to give up personal Information to the police. I get that keeping an open mind is something we should do, I do believe there is much of the natural world we still do not understand, but my counter to the idea psychics exist is simple; Why did no one claim that million dollar bounty for proving they're psychic? Why does the NSA need mass surveillance if there are people with the ability to scry! Why haven't we found a dominant of resseccive gene for it like we have with things like having 6 fingers? Why are there no diseases or conditions related to being psychic? Why are psychic's abilities always seeming to change not just in power and scope, but straight up the actual abilities people have? Why arn't we all a little psychic? I don't doubt the idea that a biological being could have something similar to telecenetic powers. I believe it's true in the same way it's true that you can turn iron or copper into gold with some heat and manipulation; Just because it's totally possible doesn't mean alchemists we're melting iron down to the atomic level and rearranging the amount of protons each individual atom had in a plasma form.

About a year ago I was taking a walk on a trail in smoke rise Alabama… I had walked it many times and was aware of the area. Though the trails were very worn and couldn’t be easily seen, I’d grown up in this area and had been down the trail many MANY times with, friends, family, by myself, even took a first date out there once. Anyway so I’m listening to music walking, and I got a notification on my phone about storage so im deleting pictures&apps on my phone not really paying attention. It was maybe 4 mins of walking while distracted, & I look up… and around.. and I have no clue where I am. I immediately start freaking out and trying to retrace my steps… looking for land marks or anything to tell me where I am. But in that panicked state of mind everything looked the same. Finally, after maybe 15 mins of freaking out, I just stopped in my tracks, realizing I could unknowingly be going farther into the woods. Thankfully after calming down I was able to realize that there was a main road some where nearby… there had to be because I drove on it to get there. So I sat on the ground straining my ears to hear anything they possibly could. After maybe 4 mins I heard the light hum of a car passing by somewhere far off. I was able to pin where I thought it came from and slowly started in that direction… praying I was right. & thankfully I was I had walk maybe 10 miles back to my car. But that is how fast panic can set in and leave you disoriented. Especially if you aren’t very familiar with the area. I could very easily, see myself in Elise’s position. Being further in the woods, going insane with fear and the dread of what’s to come… I can’t imagine how terrified she was.

What I find is so weird is a drug dog can bust someone for having even an empty, sealed plastic bag of drugs in their car from 20 feet away yet whole teams of dogs seemingly can't even begin to get a "hit" on an entire 150-plus pound body of a person when they search close by in many of these stories. In the 2nd story how did multiple searchers get close enough to see her crossing a creek and looking back multiple times, but couldn't catch up to her? This was August 1 so not like there was snow on the ground. Maybe they were elderly searchers or really slow for some other reason? Did they yell for her? So weird.

I'm 58, and I use to hunt. I live in a remote area of Idaho in a Rocky Mountain valley. And as I was watching this, I was appalled that the young man...only had 3 Bullets! to go after that deer? I was told if I ever got lost to actually fire off 3 shots, and wait like 5 seconds and fire off 3 more....to hopefully attract attention to the fact I was lost. So, not only was my rifle always fully chambered I packed in my pocket a case of shells. This was back in the mid 1970s, but I also packed about 6 plastic kitchen bags, a small tin container of matches, with fire starter in it, and some granola bars, along with 2 bottles of water....no backpack, just put the stuff in my coat over-sized pockets which had a snap on them so things wouldn't fall out. My family didn't have a lot of money, so our hunting clothes were just blue jeans, heavy cotton shirts and heavy coats, but not ones that would stay dry if it rained hard or snowed a lot on them. We had leather work type boots for hunting in, but again, those could get soaked too if a long time in rain or snow. The plastic bags...could be used as ground cover, or stuff them with duff to make a padded, warmer place to sit or lay down on, or even a little rain covering if it was raining, or snowing. poke 3 holes in the bottom of one and pull it over your head and it's enough to let you see out and breathe, it acts as a mile wind break, and also keep rain or snow off your back. With just those very basics, I think a person could at least survive a day or two without too much problem. But to go out into the woods without any means to try to ward of the wet or cold, nothing to start a fire with...and only 3 bullets, when having many more could help attract attention your way....that's just poor education and planning.
