Gd morning sir, this prelims series is very useful, same way can you start the mains series. Bcoz the mains syllabus is very vast and more challenging even though I watched you UPSC playlist, I took notes from that but still that is insufficient for tis G1 mains syllabus. So please start a new G1 mains economy series mainly for those topics which is not covered in that upsc mains series. Thank you sir

sir. the first question from the question bank , shouldn't we eliminate the option issue of bank coins and notes . option should be only 2 and 3 are correct? because the issue of coins is done by ministry of finance and not RBI. just a doubt . Kindly clarify .

Can a country print currencies during crisis? The answer is yes, but in India there are certain rules and regulations. The government earns its revenue in the form of taxes, collections etc., and spends on infrastructure, health, citizens etc., but at times there is deficit finance like the ones which arisesd during pandemic. (Usually the government aims to keep the deficit under 3.5% of GDP, but currently its around 5.9% for the FY23-24) At such situations government has to borrow from investors, but in a tight economy when no one is willing to lend the RBI is the lender of the last resort. That’s when the RBI prints currency when they have to lend. Excessive printing of money can lead to inflation and devalue the currency, which can have negative economic effects. eg: Venezuela, Zimbabwe.

RBI dhan.. But evvalo vena print panna mudiyadhu. Appadi print panna Inflation varum. I explained about that in Inflation video. More money in hands of people will increase overall demand in economy which ll surpass the supply leading to inflation. inflation will erode the money value.
