My 10k Time Trial to round off the Mission 40 series.
I decided not to take the camera, as it detracts slightly from my focus and running ability, if I’m worrying about getting footage whilst trying to run a PB.
I picked a day I was fresh, weather was pretty much perfect and a route that was flat, clear and without issues.

So what happened? My brain happened.
There were literally no excuses for a bad run, and it wasn’t a bad run. It was a very good run; I was moving well, not overly fatigued and on for a PB.
But I couldn’t turn my brain off. When push came to shove, my brain told me to stop. I have been motivated throughout the series and have put in all the work, but for some reason, on the day of the 10k TT, I couldn’t silence my head.
Maybe it was pressure I put on myself. Maybe it was fear of failure. Maybe it is a mental block. Maybe it is insecurities I have……
All I know is that the 10k is the only distance this happens, and I would like to prevent it continuing to occur.
I will redo the TT some point soon, and see what time I can achieve. But it is secondary to figuring out why I continue to struggle with the 10k and have this mental battle with it!
NOTE: I did redo the TT a few weeks later and managed a 40:33 to wrap up Mission 40! strava.app.link/bqQM5TrLsJb
Thanks as always for watching…..
