Absolutely not, they are a joke. Inflation figures are manipulated for a start. And even if it drops to their supposed figure, the prices are +30% up on a few years ago. Pushed back any wage increases by 6-7 years.

Historically speaking Bitcoin doesnt do much immediately after the halving - but it does do impressive spikes and tops out around 18 or so months afterwards. No one can time the market, but I'd say it's worth considering entering a position at current prices and if further dips occur, just add to your position. Over the long run, there is a higher probability to the upside than the downside, .It's not about guessing the market's next move; it's about playing it smart and steady during trading...managed to grow a nest egg of around 2.4Bitcoin to a decent 18Bitcoin in the space of a few months... Falling inflation does not often point to an improvement in the economy, rarther the cost of living and job loss means people have less disposable income to put back into the economy.. the government /Banksters continue to take credit for the on the surface (improvement ) in numbers but fail to own the reality of the job loss and cost of living for the average person. One must remember that even if their laughable CPI figure is correct it is on top of all the previous years of inflation increases. If you want a dose of realism consider that in 1972 in the midlands you could buy a 3 bed semi for around £4000. Today a similar house would be £210,000, that is a 52.5 times multiple. Pre plandemic my food bill per week was around £60/week now it is at least double. Energy bills have more than doubled in last 3 years as well.

My problem is banksters look at inflation on the month to month, when we Serfs in the states look at inflation in 4 year cycles... I look at what prices were 4 years ago and what they are today and I calculate the inflation...

No dragon slayed its only because we know what the April 2023 figure is. That will be dropping out of the equation so we know that will inflation will fall. Not because of anything they've done! Last April inflation was really high (1.2% monthly equates to around 14-15% yearly inflation).

The BOE has always said they follow the core CPI rather than headline and that is almost double the target at 3.9% so big risk to cut rates this summer as GBP will get hit hard.

Two things, first of all the saying that comes to mind that makes me sad is: "we've made our beds, and now we have to sleep in them." The monetary system has been setting us up for this point in time pretty much my whole life. I'm not sure it is very much of an opportunity to escape. My second point is that I remember when I was a kid, this was in the 60s and early seventies, my dad while not a gold bug was actually very smart about things. He was well aware at that point that coins were the only real money and the dollars were just a promise to basically pay coins.... But you had to realize that back then coins were real silver..... Of course he lived into the era where the quarter ended up with copper and actually I'm not even sure at what point the penny lost its copper.... So at that point I never talked to him about how coins had devolved. BTW.... I live in Northern New hampshire, only a few miles from Bretton Woods. The Omni Mount Washington hotel still exists where the conference happened, and I enjoy going to their gold room which documents that conference.

You can fudge the numbers by being selective. Food (just a simple example) take the food that is near spoiling, food that they over stocked, products that are low sellers, and bingo the price goes down somewhat. Now take the food that people normally purchase and want on a regular basis, and figure your inflation numbers, that’s what people are experiencing, much higher than the numbers you hear. Anything can be fudged if you leave out the things that impact the formula.

I think a lot of the inflation was branded market capture/expotation. Eg the price of Branded Soup, Bake Beans and sausages etc etc... doubled 49p 85p 1.05 but a lot of non branded basics went up 7p 10p only. Big brands chance it and won. I say that as the prices have not retreated a mass of shoppers let this level of price increase slip would this happen if a bottle of Gin or Whisky went from £18 to £36 to £42. It's either going to have to resolve with bad publicity, price controls or windfall taxes. PS my Whisky went up only from 18 to 21 then 22 no where near other price increases on food stuffs

In soviet poland cheap cooking oil went from 3pln/l before pandemic to 12 after ruzzia invasion on Ukraine, and now its back down to 4. Cheap pasta/noodles from 2pln/kg to 6, to 4-5, Eggs from 0.5 to 1.2 to 0.6.
