What an absolutely wonderful, dedicated, scientist who has and will continue to inform the world through her research of the damage humans are doing to their environment...earth. An amazing documentary that will cause anyone who cares about earth to feel discomfort at the loss that has occurred over the last 60 years and for what is to come if we don't re-think our values.

The world has changed in my life time. I did not think that was possible, but it has. I have seen animals that are now extinct. In one life time. No body talks about the bleaching of the oceans, it happened suddenly, simply a higher temperature meant the coral across the world got bleached, certainly in the Indian ocean it did. How do we stop our runaway over-proliferation ?

Can't wait to actually watch it!! When will it release in Spain? Each one of us has the duty to protect the oceans, and fortunately we don't have to do great things, such as assist to conferences and summits. We just have to clean up the beach nearby, throw no rubbish into the sea, save some electricity, eat no seafood...

Beautiful. Respect for Sylvia! I could type even longer comment about my thoughts but I won't cause it'd be for nothing. Wish people get this but they don't. Poor oceans and seas. What did they do to us so that we can demolish something that has been around for so long we can't even comprehend. We are doomed eventually by our actions and it'll probably backfire then. It's the innocent sea creatures that vanish cause of us and that leads to even more vanishing. :/

Something needs to be done about this. This topic is never mentioned in political debates. I ask why? This is the biggest problem we face today. We solve this problem, we solve problems such as disease and poverty. We can put the big earth destroying corporations out of business. Those CEO's sitting on loads of cash don't care that they are destroying the place WE ALL call home. Disgusting to see people would rather live with money for 50 years than save our earth long term.

I am so grateful to see this movie coming out. We need to wake up to what we are doing to not only the oceans, but all of Mother Earth. A shift to a vegan lifestyle would save the lives of billions of fish! Not only do humans eat fish, but half of the world's fish is fed to pigs and other domestic livestock, which we also eat! Time to change!

Dear Netflix, This is such a relevant information expressed trough a video. Why is it private? You know this word must be spread, make the video free for all to be seen on KZbin, and Vimeo, and everywhere, and on Netflix webpage as 'free content without signing in' You also can use this idea for important content as Netflix free for all tv, where you put some documentaries and nice selected stuff (In pro of earth's health) This is your decision Netflix, your action. 'If I could be born anywhere in time, it would be now, it would be now because this is the time as never before that we know, we understand what we didn't know fifty years ago. If we wait another fifty years, opportunities we now have will be gone. This is the moment our decisions, our actions will shape every thing that follows' Sylvia Earle Thank you for making this great message Netflix, please share it.

We can grow kelp fast, starting it on hemp or jute rope lattices and with some buoyancy devices. Grow it in places where (when mature) vast swathes can be released into currents that carry the kelp and structures over deep water. As the buoyancy devices deflate the whole thing will sink and sequester the carbon it has trapped for 100-1000 years.

Yes, yes, yes lets take action people !.less talk and more doing is what we need to do. We are all adults and humans we are not perfect, but we know that we can help and do so much. So many intelligent people out there that can make a difference! A few things you know can do much educate yourself on what to recycle. Say no to plastic bags, recycle, reuse, repurpose and eat less meat, and grow your own garden. Eat less Tuna, etc .Be more mindful on your footprint. Avoid trash ! Volunteer to clean beaches, etc. You know all this ...After all, not alot of people will be able to pay for a trip to Mars or the moon. This is it! We have a beautiful planet and we MUST take care of it. Is not one day , when i have time , or some lame excuse.IT IS NOW! We need food, clean air, and water to survive. Once the ocean life is gone is gone !....or just watch " the road" movie and so many others about the end of the world in Netflix. Its gonna get you thinking...its scary how nasty, and ugly can be when people get desperate and hungry. Lets do it while we can, not when its too late . Please !
