If rumors are true... It is a REAL shame that Halston Sage wont be in the second season, she was 1 of the reasons i liked the Orville's first season. She will be missed. A LOT.

The Orville is a great series. I think initially the critics did not know how to classify it. Is it a scifi drama? Is it scifi comedy like Galaxy Quest? I would call it a scifi series with comedic overtones. It's like being assigned to a Naval ship with a commander who has a great sense of humor. Thank you for showing recaps of the Orville eps.

Wow is it any wonder why this is the new Star Trek we been looking for. Sadly losing Sage in 2nd season may destroy the show she was a huge part of its success. Kinda like Data was to TNG when they killed Data in Nemesis. That was really bad for that movie.

@@LGranthamsHeir true that was season one but Tasha wasnt as important to the function of the crew as Alara was. We can only hope her replacement has the same onscreen chemistry with the crew. Often times changes this big has a huge effect on the chemistry between the rest of the actors.

They spent so much time on her character growth so if they are losing her like the evidence suggests then it is really going to change the show. To bring on another woman from her home planet to preserve that same literally-powerful-woman dynamic would be too cheap, so they will have to completely change it up. Maybe they could use the opportunity to hold tryouts for Alara’s position and one of the candidates would be another well-known actor who ultimately loses out and fades back into the crew never/rarely to be seen again but occasionally referenced. Maybe for $3000 and a cup of coffee they could get Brad Pitt.

IMDB has Halston Sage down for 26 episodes, which is the total of both seasons. She is also listed on the episode cast on season 2 episode 14.
