ilsa's death pisses me off so bad idgaf,, they just had to kill the female character right?? and what makes it worse is that mcq claimed he was heavily against fridging (killing off a female character to develop the male hero's story/make him emotional) and yet that's exactly what he does here. it pisses me off to no end. and what's worse is they barely showed ethan's grief... i mean surely you would be extremely upset if your quasi-gf was killed AND they basically replaced her immediately w grace.
@ImperialMJG6 ай бұрын
Oh no, you angry because they killed a female character😂 Relevant info you should have had before making this comment: Rebecca was signed on for 3 movies. This was the third. And she didnt want to do more because she was tired of waiting and waiting on set just to have like 10-20 minutes in the movies. The movie was 2:43 hours long. If Ethan should have gone around crying for 5 minutes also THATS what people would have complained about making the movie even longer.
@Ali-xs2ij4 ай бұрын
They didn't replace her with Grace. It's like saying Benji is Luther's replacement. Ethan has been in this job for more than 30 years. He has seen the death of his teammates many times. He reacted to Hunley's death in Fallout in the same way. What do you expect him to do? Cry in agony and pain while the villain is one step ahead of him? Plus, Rebecca Ferguson wanted to move on from Ilsa and left the production team no other choice. So stop with this outrage towards the writers just because he killed your fictional mistress.

My favorite parts were when Ilsa immobilized herself during a fight to the death because she decided to leg grapple a dude with a knife when she had a sword and when a 120lb woman who'd been stabbed in the chest 10min prior supported 300lbs of combined body weight to save the protagonists. An enjoyable movie don't get me wrong, but some of the silliest writing I've seen in a while.
@sparda90605 ай бұрын
Theres a reason why that fight scene was done very dumb. Its because the actress can't do any more Mission Impossible movies because she is also in the Dune movies as a main character, so she doesn't have time to do both movie series. So she was written off the movie so they killed her character her, not very well done TBH and the fight felt very shoddy. Probly did that fight the last minute too due to filming schedules.
@Hauns9110 ай бұрын
This movie was great but the bike scene promo made that scene so whatever. Would have been way better as a surprise and see it and everyone hyping it up. Plus, Ilsa's death was extremely underwhelming after everything she did in the last couple movies. She was a huge part of the franchise now and they just killed her off with barely any screen time. I'm assuming it had to do with filming this and Dune 2. This doesn't touch Rogue Nation and Fallout though. Those are 5/5
@nichescenes10 ай бұрын
Yeah people on couch kinda oversold something they saw in trailers a lot. It seemed underwhelming like the entire movie. Maybe not for me anymore. They sell it as this cool hype action thing and push boring exposition and mucuffins. Which is fine if the people watching were consistent. Same people to say this is hype say other films are bad for the same plot.

Yeah I’m not getting how people think this film plot is so hype. Seems they just love cruise cause fast furious plots are just as silly and people trash them. They mix cgi and stunts and people act like it’s all fake and bad but honestly fast furious had more stunts and was more exciting. I get it it’s not serious enough but just saying had to stop movie a lot was like this is the movie y’all hyped as the best in franchise. Last stunt and train thing were fun when I saw them already in video games.

@@brandonself6287 yeah I’m more on what you said. Guess that issue where everyone around you is hype and you just fine you start to over criticize. It was cool just jumbled. Perfect. Also exposition on key was a bit wooden felt different than rest of the film and a couple of scenes felt like other franchises. Like the bar part. Action was cool and I guess I overdownplayed it cause the other films seemed to have better stunts but people kept telling me how this was the best most hype one lol. Felt like Mickey thinking you know people sky dive it’s super scary and dangerous but he’s done skydiving before and he had a ramp and I’ve seen Tony hawlk rocket off ramps not off cliffs but super high on a skateboard lol. I was just overly pushed to go fold my hands and get pissy cause the hype overload from friends 😂your right it wasn’t that bad.

I remember back in 2019 when Paramount, Skydance and Cruise himself announced back to back sequels:part 7 for 2021 and part 8 for 2022. The pandemic pushing back everything. Production on Part 1 wrapping up, the first trailer dropping and announcing the beginning of the end to the franchise was exciting. This was definitely worth the admission. Brilliant story, even better cast and plenty of shockers. These action sequences are all incredible and steady keep you on the edge. Well constructed for Cruise to do his thing and other actors getting into the action as well. Henry Czerny returning as Eugene Kittridge (ex-IMF director/now-director CIA director) was a nice addition and ever since M:I-1, he realizes that Hunt as an leader can still get things done. I did see this on IMAX and enjoyed every minute. This was one of the better films out among many failing blockbusters. The 8th film with a different title (not DR part 2) was hallway through filming when the actors' strike started. Now that it's over, they've pushed the release date to 2025. Another long wait (perhaps) and it'll be worth it like the last one. Did y'all notice the callbacks to the first film: 1. Bravo Echo One One is Ethan Hunt's Identification Code. First heard after he lost his team in Prague. 2. Sleight of hand with the keys pieces. Ethan did that with The NOC List. 3. Luther being referred to as 'The Net Range'r & 'Phineas Freak'. His known aliases as an tech genius prior to meeting Ethan and planning The NOC List heist.

Fallout will always be my favorite as the best of this franchise, but I love this one, because it as a rogue A.I. as the primary antagonist, with a terrorist as its human liaison. The Entity is quite possibly the most dangerous villain the IMF has ever had to face, cause it's a computer algorithm that is "five steps" ahead of the IMF, and it comments on how an A.I. can be a dangerous threat that could start WW3, not through nuclear weapons, but by using the Internet as its prime weapon. And the realistic stunt work helps be beneficial for action sequences, something that hasn't been seen since the 1990s, made possible by using an actual locomotive train for a crash off a cliffside into a quarry below.
