@@kawikacortes347 the groups are split into two things. Yes they are talking, but it isn't their turn and they are probably intentionally not listening so they don't meta even if by accident. At one put when it was Top Groups turn, you see everyone in bottom group on their phones. There is nothing at all wrong with what they are doing. They listen and don't talk much when it is their group's turn. If there is no interference with the actual session, then why care if they talk too much? It isn't like you are hearing their entire conversation.

Seriously splitting the party made this episode so tense in the way that @matthewmercer expertly shifts between the two groups at key moments. They say don’t split the party but honestly glad they did because this was peak entertainment.

Conceptually I don't like the idea that splitting the party is never an option. I feel like depending on the campaign and the party's goals splitting up can be the best decision.

Spliting the party is bad for a few main reasons: 1) the DM hasn't balanced the separate encounters for multiple people, and doesn't have time do to so 2) the split groups might not have the resouces to properly function in combat and 3) smaller groups means a different action economy in combat encounters, so mistakes are a lot more punishing. Time and preparation generally fix these issues, as well as a not insignificant serving of experience for both sides

Notice in this instance the session was Set Up for a split party, with the split decided upon & finalized at the end of the prior session. Giving Matt time to prepare for a split party meant it wasn’t actually any sort of detriment to a game. Spring that on a DM mid-session tho, you’re asking for a terrible time all around. The amount of improvisation it would require would be even too much for Matt, I’d imagine. At minimum he’d immediately go to break to plan

Oh my god, Fearne's character growth this campaign has been unbelievable. It came up *repeatedly* in the most recent Four Sided Dive. Nowadays, Fearne has the biggest, most helplessly open heart of anyone in Bells Hells, and she's traded her laissez-faire approach to other souls for this unbounded love and concern. There is a part of me that worries that it might be getting too intense, like something that needs therapy (born of trauma and damaging to a degree) rather than a positive trait, but... yeah. Our tenderheart faun.

Daggerheart will likely becoming the main system in C4. C3 probably doesn't have much longer left. We are entering into Year 3 with generally how long one of their campaigns last. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't finish up near the end of summer or by the end of the year.

I think you probably already have a good idea. From what I understand there's a lot of stray dogs there that are not necessarily totally tame, and Ashley is the type of person who always wants to at least try to pet a dog any time she sees one, so she probably ran into a couple that weren't friendly.

Why should Imogen feel guilt over what she's being forced to do, now, because...of her mother, just as much as it is the fault of Ludinus? It's not Imogen's fault this is happening - her mother could have gone double agent, or changed her mind at any point over the years, and none of this would have happened. Why would she even be mad at a 'daughter' she never knew, and has only spoken to like 5 times now, making them effectively strangers? It's not like it's even personal, or a betrayal, because...you don't know each other, and have no relationship to betray. Imogen's obsession with a stranger who doesn't care about her at all has been weird to me this whole time, and it's just so shitty of her 'mother' to suddenly be 'betrayed' when it upsets HER plans. She's perfectly willing to let HER allies kill Imogen or HER allies. But when it affects mommy dearest, THEN it's an issue? Someone get this assassination over with. ZZzzzz

For a lot of people blood family is very important. There might be million reasons to try to reconcile with your mother. One of them might be to feel better. Especially because Liliana was "present" by being in Imogen dreams ironically making her want to find and help her mother. It's just classic case of finding lost parent but turns out they are shitty🙃
