Maybe there are not many counterfeits of RotD, but there is a very professional repro from NCI/Atomik which is quite hard to distinguish from the genuine version. Especially for newcomers!

To tell the difference between consoles is on the bottom of the console where the serial number is located. US based consoles generally have the model number “NEO-AEC” and Japanese will have “NEO-O” Hope this helps.
