Mission of Burma are a Post-Punk/Alternative Rock band from Boston, Massachusetts. This video is ripped directly from my copy of the live DVD included with the "The Horrible Truth About Burma" 2008 album vinyl reissue. This video was directed and produced by Paul Rachman (American Hardcore) at what was supposed to be one of MOB's final shows. Two sets were recorded: An afternoon set (kzbin.info/www/bejne/imfJYomXhs6aqtk) and an evening one (this). There is another, more abridged version of this gig that was released on VHS and is included on the DVD. Maybe I'll rip that and upload it too, I don't know yet... I will remove this video at the request of any of the members of MOB, Rachman or anyone at Matador and/or Ace of Hearts Records. I wholeheartedly support MOB and encourage every single person who watches this does so also. 00:00:00 Intro 00:00:27 This Is Not a Photograph 00:02:33 Mica 00:06:23 He Is, She Is* 00:09:09 Outlaw 00:12:18 Peking Spring* 00:16:01 Trem Two 00:20:30 Go Fun Burn Man* 00:22:24 Fun World 00:27:18 Blackboard 00:31:01 See My Friend (The Kinks) 00:36:02 Max Ernst 00:39:00 That's How I Escaped My Certain Fate 00:42:22 Einstein's Day 00:47:31 Dumbells 00:50:04 That's When I Reach For My Revolver 00:53:38 Secrets 00:57:35 Encore: Academy Fight Song 01:00:53 Credits * = Included on the "The Horrible Truth About Burma" live album, released 1985

I was at that show - a bittersweet highlight and ending of sorts to my years in the Boston music scene.

Fave band ever. Heavy rotation on the weekly college radio I hosted on WCWM in the early '80s. Opened most of those shows with Secrets. The cover of See My Friend is stellar.

Roger wearing the noise canceling headphones :0 all due to his growing tinnitus that eventually led to the band breakup :(

@@travispetkovits9944 Well then, the breakup may have been planned before the show as well as it could have been brought up later

Thanks for sharing. Bought the Vinyl in 1985 or 1986 mostly because there was a Pere Ubu cover (a band that covered Ubu couldn' be bad) and I didn't know until reading "Our band could be your life" (which I really recommend) that there is footage of these shows.

I saw MOB open for Pere Ubu at a club called The Main Act in Lynn, just north of Boston in the early 80s. A great pairing of bands.

I have no idea how I ended up buying everything I could find by them... I'm not sure if I saw them at City Gardens but I remember they were on a flyer in 83 or 84? It seems to me I heard them on WPRB Princeton ot WTSR Trenton State College Radio... For me that was hip uncharted territory after being spoon fed mainstream FM vomit... I had a foot on the dock and one on the boat... Then I set sail into the left of the dial! 😂

The bass in Fun World pounds so low it has an anchor. The low end is likea a gut punch and the throb of the notes is either twisting my balls or spike kicking the whole groinoid region going right to the stomach, which in turns pulls and pulses thy manhood at the same time, and I don't care about it! But really, why wasn't Fun World or
