Mission SUPERSONIC 8 BALL Vacuum Cannon (Experiment) Part 2.

The 2nd experiment in the Supersonic 8 Ball Mission series. We endeavour to make an 8-ball break the sound barrier and go supersonic. Destin on SmarterEveryDay did it with a baseball in ‘Supersonic baseball cannon’, using a ping pong ball vacuum cannon style system and adding compressed air. The mission is to eventually get the 8 ball to travel 343m/s or 761mph the speed of sound. Adapting a ping pong ball vacuum cannon as we go to get the 8 ball supersonic and be the world’s fastest 8 ball.

Homemade vacuum cannon in a bid to have the world’s fastest supersonic 8-ball experiment. Using the principal behind the vacuum ping pong ball cannon we take it further with an 8 ball and then later using a Laval nozzle and compressed air. We attempt to break the sound barrier and go supersonic. Watch the whole series as the cannon evolves. Also, what would you like us to shoot with the supersonic 8 ball cannon when it’s done?
