I was hiking in the desert a little ways outside Phoenix when I stopped for a break on a little hill and while sitting there I kept hearing what I thought were distant voices even though absolutely nothing or no one was around. I followed the sound and found a small ventilation pipe with a triangular cap at the top sticking up out of the ground basically in a little bush. It was painted brown. I dug down near the base of it and seem to hit some kind of roof and I could hear voices just barely coming from the pipe but there was no roads or anything leading to the hill or any signs that would make you think a building was in the hill. I tried going back about a year later but can't remember where it was exactly.

Major takeaway -- I was 11 when "that shit was delivered" --- we and our elders lived under a HUGE shadow of nuclear apocalypse that you youngers perhaps don't get the vibe off. And here's a novel factual thing: POTUS Ronald Reagan and is secretary of Defence Cap Weinberger (Republicans, and opposed by Biden and his mates all the way...) AND Margaret Thatcher (Conservatives/Torys) launched a strategy to vastly overtake the USSR (the Soviet Socialist Republics) militarily - over a TRILLION dollars from 1981 or so on, and this essentially 'broke the USSR'. They capitulated under Gorbachev, and the Iron Curtain fell with nary a shot fired. No Nukes launched. That's how you do it folks!) Don't believe the Woke hype.

When I was in college I had a part time job with the university library. One day I was asked to go down in the basement and locate an extra cart. I had trouble finding one and during my search I opened a door to a stairwell that led even deeper underground. I was so curious about what was down there I went exploring. What I found was a nuclear fallout shelter but in addition to that a microfiche library. There was row after row of cabinets filled with microfiche (essentially these are documents that have been photographed and stored as negatives on a spool of film). The interesting thing was the cabinets were labeled with various technological categories. It was obvious that the library was an attempt to preserve all sorts of engineering documents - everything from steam turbines to airplanes. I would guess the library stopped being maintained sometime in the early 80s given the technology that was in the room. The amount of money and time that went into creating that library was mind boggling. But people really did believe that nuclear war was going to happen back then.

@midnitesquirldog1 But at what moment into the video did you notice that, like how many minutes and seconds into the video? Because now you've made me curious, and I'd like to see if for myself as well. With the lack of lighting they had there its pretty easy to mistake one type of ammo for another, so its understandable if you would have mistaken it for something else. Although one is rimmed and the other isn't, 7,62x54R munition, which the Warsaw pact used, looks a lot like .30-06 ammo.

Russia is still to this day under serious threat of war from the west. If anything, with the unilateral termination of the treaty of short and mid-range missiles, nuclear amageddon is even more so possible than before. Russian strategic bombers after a long pause have resumed flying up and down the American coasts, always ready to launch nuclear tipped cruise missiles. The cold war never stopped.

The vials in the yellow boxes are 'manual' chemical, biological, and radiation detection kits. The first gizmo looks like a battery operated radiac kit (Geiger counter). You blazed by most of the stuff too fast, but for the most part all the boxes would have contained charcoal filled suits, gas masks, gas mask components like charcoal filters, UV lenses for the masks inner shoes to fit over combat boots, over boots that are rubber are for decon. Cloth liners for gloves and boots might have also been in there. There were decontamination kits that may have been for gas attacks. This would have 2PAM chloride/atropine injectors. They come with 'wet wipes' that have an acid in it (Like a mild HCL) that removes layers of skin so that you can put your gas mask on after a gas attack. Not sure why linoleum knives are down them. Most of the materials look like military hardware, instead of civil defense... and that would mean that you MIGHT HAVE BEEN on a military site... and the guys escorting MIGHT HAVE BEEN former soldiers who pulled guard duty there. I'm guessing they're in their 20's so, they MAY HAVE pulled duty there in the last 5 years. Looks like a lot of lanterns have been pilfered, I bet they fetch a nice price on E-bay. Wouldn't be any weapons down there, those are issued from an armory that are inventoried. no ration crates down there either - (they would have expired by now) So, not a fully stocked bunker. Cool video... Don't get caught.

But consider the upside: Dr. Strangelove: Well, that would not be necessary, Mr. President. It could easily be accomplished with a computer. And a computer could be set and programmed to accept factors from youth, health, sexual fertility, intelligence, and a cross-section of necessary skills. Of course, it would be absolutely vital that our top government and military men be included to foster and impart the required principles of leadership and tradition. Naturally, they would breed prodigiously, eh? There would be much time, and little to do. Ha, ha. But ah, with the proper breeding techniques and a ratio of say, ten females to each male, I would guess that they could then work their way back to the present Gross National Productwithin say, twenty years. Muffley: But look here doctor, wouldn't this nucleus of survivors be so grief-stricken and anguished that they'd, well, envy the dead and not want to go on living? Dr. Strangelove: No, sir...excuse me...When they go down into the mine, everyone would still be alive. There would be no shocking memories, and the prevailing emotion will be one of nostalgia for those left behind, combined with a spirit of bold curiosity for the adventure ahead! [involuntarily gives the Nazi salute and forces it down with his other hand]Ahhh! Turgidson: Doctor, you mentioned the ratio of ten women to each man. Now, wouldn't that necessitate the abandonment of the so-called monogamous sexual relationship, I mean, as far as men were concerned? Dr. Strangelove: Regrettably, yes. But it is, you know, a sacrifice required for the future of the human race. I hasten to add that since each man will be required to do prodigious...service along these lines, the women will have to be selected for their sexual characteristics which will have to be of a highly stimulating nature.Russian Ambassador: I must confess, you have an astonishingly good idea there, Doctor.

You would at most stay in there for a month or two depending on how fcked up the world is. Most high energy fallout particles would decay relatively quickly. Tho what's left would still be a high cancer risk, it wouldn't outright kill ya in days anymore.

You wouldn't stay down for decades, there wouldn't be enough water.

It’s incredible to think that there are these super structures just abandoned and left empty while being fully stocked And very few actually know about them

yeah i wonder how many of these things are sitting underground, The guide clearly knew where it was to go looking through those vents, but think about it, if no one cared to tell anyone else these things could easilly be forgotten

@@therideneverends1697 The fall of soviet Russia has probably left a lot of mothballed sites like this where the new people in charge didn't see a strategic advantage in maintaining such structures. There are probably some old CIA black sites where teams have been dispersed, or re purposed that sit hidden in situe.

A quote from the Nicholas Cage movie Lord of War comes to mind, when talking about the Soviet collapse and that the Ukrainian military and all its guns no longer belong to the Kremlin and no one will come looking for them if they are sold: "The ones who know don't care anymore, and the ones who care don't know." A lot of old Soviet shit ended up abandoned under that thinking I imagine.

How did you even go through that tube? I would never, I have an extreme fear of getting stuck in places like that. I got anxiety just watching you guys do that.

Whatever you do, do not look up the case of John Jones in the Nutty Putty Cave... no, really, don’t. True stuff of claustrophobic nightmares!

@@f19ash I came across his story shortly after it happened. it's an actual nightmare that I wouldn't wish on anyone. anytime I watch videos of people cave exploring, I feel an overwhelming sense of dread and panic. I love going in caves but only the kind you can walk down into. also it needs to have plenty of space.

@@troye.1309 Exactly my feeling. Maybe that was why I was born, I got claustrophobic. Or maybe I just got kicked out, too much burden on mom.

This was so much better than a music filled video with stupid sound effects and boring content! Thank you very much for posting this 👍🏻!
