"On the Mississippi with Conway Twitty"
1982 TV Special
Conway Twitty hosts a special about his hometown of Friars Point, MS. It includes his high school classmates and a childhood memories discussion segment with his mother!
Featuring Guests: Loretta Lynn/Charley Pride/Tammy Wynette/Jerry Lee Lewis/Dick Clark/Ralph Emery/George Lindsey
What a treasure of memories, since unfortunately all of these artists have passed away! Certain song performances were cut from this version, to prevent copyright claims! I love the comedy bit by George Lindsey! This special aired on the former TNN Channel... The Nashville Network!
Background information:
The Mississippi Queen was the second-largest paddle wheel driven river steamboat ever built, second only to the larger American Queen. The ship was the largest such steamboat when she was built in 1976 by the Delta Queen Steamboat Company at Jeffboat in Indiana and was a seven-deck recreation of a classic Mississippi riverboat. It had a capacity of 412 guests, 157 crew members, and 206 state rooms. It was active from 1976-2008.
