Wow, I had no idea there were rocks and gravel in the Mississippi. In Arkansas and Louisiana all we see is silt/mud. Awesome episode!

another advantage to panning out of a tub is you can put a little jet dry in it. as for the bucket panning its super important to keep the whole buck under water so you dont interduce Air and the lets the gold float out well you are swirling. think of it as a potato pan, thanks for the share! stay awesome!

@GlacialGoldHunter that is why you pan out in the tub with jet dry in it and just empty and refill the tub out of the stream . So you can just empty the tub on shore . It you don't like jet dry and you a afraid of it getting back into the water you can just use animal safe dawn soap. It only takes a few drops to brake the surface tension. Experiment for yourself fill your sink up add a little cooking oil and drop a single drop of dawn in you see how little it takes . Soap happens in nature all the time,

When i go to the Mississippi River, we get about 50 specks of gold in 1 bucket. Secret is dont dig in the water. Dig the cobble on the banks.

im the old guy use thw tray 3 +shuvels follqw gravity panning video run 60 + buckets per hr or take 8x20 or larger tarp put in water shovel 400+ pan cons using traymove 100 bucket + per hr
