And defense is still a priority for every SEC school looking to get to the Championship game. And back to the defensive ranking for LSU. That's a deceptive ranking considering the schedule they played.

Jake Sanders Leach has his recruiting line to Texas back much closer than it was to Pullman. He won big at Tech with 1-3 star recruits and walk ons. Yes, LSU gave up 38 points to Texas and was a close call onsides kick away from possibly having its season spoiled in September. Their defense did improve as you suggest.

I'm not from Mississippi. I'm from the East Coast. I did my undergrad in Texas. I now live in the San Francisco Bay Area (in Northern California). I watched the Mississippi State-LSU game because of K.J. Costello (I was able to see him play here at Stanford University). That game against LSU was exciting on all sides of the ball (offense, defense and special teams). Now, I am excited to continue watching your games for the rest of the season.
