Hey! Stephanie. I really hope you see this comment. So I checked out Grandpa Mango's shop! Just wanted to let you know that the digitals were downloadable without paying. You can add a watermark and make it so that it isn't downloadable without printing. The prints are super cool and I hope his hard work doesn't go to waste! Love your energy and content :))

Coming from a Chinese family, I relate to this so much. I grew up never hearing “I Love You” from my parents. Their way to show love was providing for the family. I burst into tears when Tiffany and Stefiance cried as they saw their grandpa cry. Guess I needed to ugly cry today. 🤷🏻‍♀️

@@anayaxo9007 I did that exact thing. I’m going to be 43 this year. I’m not entirely sure if my parents love me. So when I had my first son I made him a promise. I promised him he would always KNOW his mommy loved him. I thought of all the things I wished for in my childhood and did those things for my kiddos. So I ALWAYS tell them I love them. How happy and proud I am to be their mother and how proud they make me every single day. I made the same promise to my second son. I love yous, hugs, kisses and affection are freely given in my house. Then I trained my parents to be the same way with my boys. And something miraculous happened by doing this. Now my parents freely tell me they love me. It was very weird to get use to but it makes me so happy when I hear it. People are afraid of their love being rejected. So when they feel secure and know it won’t be it makes them become more open with their feelings. Life is to short not to show the people who are important to you that you care.

This video was very special to me and definitely made me cry. My mom suddenly passed away 3 years ago, and I don't think I ever told her I loved her, and I remember our last conversation being a fight. I told myself that I would tell my father I love you more often, but never did. He suddenly passed away a few months ago and I think about all the parts of my life he is going to miss, but most importantly that I can't say I love you for the first time.

I am sure they knew you loved them, Samantha. We are human. We get angry sometimes and say things we don't mean. But luckily, our loved ones see the sum of our entire person. I am sure there were many little things you did that your parents felt appreciated in. I am sure they cherished all of that the same way you cherish the things they did for you. You did the best you could. Love and forgive yourself the same way you would a loved one.

So glad you guys had the opportunity to do this, my family is Chinese as well but thankfully my mom and I were very close. I was able to say I love you to her often. Not so much my dad, both of them as well as my grandma passed away recently. I'm in my early 20's and never could have expected things to turn out this way. Honestly, it's not about doing or saying things before it's too late because no one anticipates sudden loss. It's about overcoming the feelings of guilt/regret and telling yourself that you did the best you could with what you knew because you will never be able to go back and change how you acted.

I hope you are healing, friend! When I lost my grandma I was overwhelmed with regret that I hadn't told her I loved her and I will never have that chance. A friend of mine told me that love is expressed in more than just words. Every little gesture you did, I am sure they knew there was love in it. My grandma never told me she loved me too but when she went out of her way to make me all the foods I loved, I knew she loved me. When I found her sleeping with a picture of my family and I under her pillow, I knew there was pure love there. I am sure there were many similar small incidents that you did that your loved ones knew you loved them. Hope that brings you some comfort. You did the best you could. Continue healing, expressing love and loving yourself. Take care. ❤️

The other day I saw a snipped of a podcast recording that keeps being stuck in my head. These two people on the podcast talked about seeing ones family and one talked about how something a few years ago changed his perspective. So he asked: "How often do you see your parents?" And the other one answered: "About twice a year." "How many years do you think you have left with your parents? Say you think you have 5 years left with them, I don't think of that as I have 5 years left, I think of that as I have 10 more times seeing each other left". Oh the feels I'm telling you. It made me realise that even though my family lives mostly an hour or an hour and a half apart, we only see each other 4-6 times a year (when there isn't a pandemic) and that really struck me.

The phone call with their Grandpa made me cry too. I always tell my parents that I love them, but for a long time throughout my childhood, my dad (my stepfather) never said it back(well maybe when I was little). Not to mention he's not as receptive of my hugs or all of my kisses as my mom would be, so whenever he does say I love you back or he does he does let me kiss him, I would get emotional. In these few recent years, now that I'm 22, it's been better, and he says it more even now that our family is split up for next 3 years until he comes to Barbados for his retirement alongside my mom and I.

I’m Chinese and I know how Stephancie feels, I don’t express my emotions like that to anyone. I’ve never said I love you especially family members, friends a couple times but my whole life I’ve gotten used to “actions are louder than words”. Even watching these videos hearing those words “我爱你” makes me throw up, it feels so foreign

@@rhirhiamy8614 I can’t cook but tbh same rather do something for them to express it than actually saying it.

I never realized how difficult it could be to say I love you in different cultures. Every time I leave the house (work, shopping), hang up the phone or going to bed I say either “bye. Love you. be safe” or “goodnight. Love you” in my head i always think I don’t want anything bad to happen to me or my loved ones and the last thing they think of is me hating them if we have a fight that day. I always want them to know that no matter what I still love them.

i cried so much after mmb and tiffany called their grandpa. my grandpa passed away last december and i never got the chance to say i love you. even in his last moments, i never had the courage to say it outloud. i'm glad mmb and tiffany got to say it to their grandparents before, god forbid, it's too late.

I always come back to this video since it was posted. Growing up I literally never heard “I love you” from anyone. Parents included. So now me & my cousins try to normalize it between us & even our kids. I cried just talking about it with my therapist. Like we’re just saying I love you before ending phone calls or before leaving each other’s houses. But it really does mean the world to me & maybe all of us that we’re more freely with saying it than our last generation was. I love my family. & Stephanie I love yours too. 💕

Duuude! You guys made me cry so much!!! Just hear you say “I love you” to your family really made me think about my family. We don’t say “I love you” to each other either because it’s we didn’t grow up with. But it shouldn’t have to be this hard. I relate to Mr. Mango Butt and his sister so much. Anyway, I enjoyed watching this video. Thanks guys!

At one point when I was young I was mad at my dad so when he said I love you I didn't answer, and he never said anything. I thought he would be upset and he just got quiet. Later my mom said it really hurt h Because it, takes a lot for him to say I love you. Growing up his dad never said it, and said that that's not something a dad does, "you should just know I don't have to tell you" but it always bothered my dad. So he always tried really hard to tell us kids he loved us
