Home Free really used a lot of vocal techniques to make themselves sound as country as they can. The beatboxer is Adam Rupp one of the founding members of Home Free. The lead singer is the high tenor of the group, Austin Brown, an amazing singer...For your next Home Free reaction I'd like you to react to is "How great thou art" a five-part harmony "eargasm"...there is no beat-boxing but you will hear the beatboxer in that, trust me on this.

I think the reason you have been "sleeping on these guys" is they call themselves a Country A Capella group. Which is true, they do sing a bunch of country songs but they also sing Pop and R&B. And at a live performance, you may even hear Musical Theater performances. They sing what they want period. Yes, they at times add a little country twang to the song but they never let you down as to their talent or the way the song sounds. Quite a few people have it stuck in their head what country music sounds like and these guys blow that thinking out of the water very time! So many people are not country fans but they love Home Free because they are just so good. And they always make you smile!

When a Man Loves A Woman is my recommendation for your next reaction. It showcases a different side of the lead singer here, the amazing Austin Brown. He will blow you away, as will the harmonies and the vocal percussion provided by the other guys. Austin also has a successful solo channel with simple covers of mostly older classic songs, but don't let the simplicity fool you, as well as solo originals that are more produced (songs as well as videos), all worthy of a reaction. Thanks for the reaction, keep them coming! 🥰🙏

The first two singers were Austin Brown, and Rob Lundquist. Both are amazing tenors. The bass singer is Tim Foust (I would recommend checking out his collaborations with Peter Hollens. It's just the two of them, but they sound like an entire choir.) The beatboxer is Adam Rupp (people joke about him having swallowed a drum kit as a child). The newest member of the group is the baritone, Adam Chance (he's mostly referred to as "Chance", to avoid confusion with the other Adam). By the way, the "jaw harp" sounds at the beginning and end, are Chance. Seeing your face at certain points in this video, I would recommend their cover of "When A Man Loves A Woman". It has Austin taking the lead, and seeming like he's flirting with the camera (his fiance was there, and he was singing to her).

Hi MissMegan- Pentaholics, Home Fries and Voiceplayers (another A Cappella group-Voiceplay) don't compete. Those are the top 3 A Cappella groups that we call the "Trifecta." There are other groups as well, but these are the BEST!! Pentatonix is very polished, and in a High School Metaphor, are the "popular kids," and Home Free are the ones "throwing a party in the back 80," and Voiceplay are the "Drama Geeks." (geeks being used in the nicest way, lol) Depending on the day, time, how we're feeling, and the phase of the moon, we think each group is our favorite for that specific time. They don't compete with each other either. They've even worked together, had cameo's in each others videos and have even helped another with an arrangement for a video or two. True fans can get kind of protective when reactors start asking us to rank, rate or pick a favorite. For those of us who've been around since the beginning, they are like our kids and "Mama doesn't have a favorite...they're ALL my favorite"...for different reasons.

There are so many great songs by Home Free. You can't go wrong. End of the Road, Elvira, My Church, Let's Get It On / Thinking Out Loud mashup, Folsom Prison Blues, Mayday (although, it's usually suggested not to react to Mayday until you've reacted to a bit more of their stuff and have gotten to know them better). Honestly though, you can't really go wrong with any of their songs.

I actually like Home Free's version of this more than the Pentatonix version. In no way am I putting down the PTX version, however. Both groups (and I shouldn't forget VoicePlay here) have so much talent. I simply prefer Home Free's sound and tight harmonies because, for me, it's more pleasant to my ear.

Adam Rupp has won many beatboxing competitions. He’s unparalleled in the industry. Other beatboxers are really really good, but Adam is the GOAT. Fun note: Adam Rupp is the only “original” member of Home Free still in the group. Adam co-founded the group in 2000, with his brother Chris-in their dorm room in college. Chris Rupp left in 2016 to pursue his solo career, and he was replaced by Adam Chance (aka “Chance”, because there’s another Adam in the group). When you saw and reacted to “Brothers In Arms”, Tim Foust (bass in HF) started with his solo. The second soloist was Chance! And FYI: Pentatonix won NBC’s “The Sing-Off’ in 2011. Home Free won it in 2013!!

Welcome to the rabbithole of Home Free. It is a deap, deap hole of pure music fun! Short about the guys as they are standing in this video. Front left. Rob Lundqvist. Tenor. Back left. Adam Chanse. Baritone/bas/low tenor. Newest member. 4 octave range. Front center. Austin Brown. High tenor. Back right. Adam Rupp. Beatboxer. Freak of nature when it comes to sounding like a drum-kit or any other odd sounds. Like a harmonica.. Founder of this group with his brother Chris. You will se Chris in some older videos singing. No longer in the group. Front right. Tim Faust. Bass extraordinere. A true basso profondo. Has a 5+ range in his voice. He can sing high tenor. But his bass voice.... Thats just awsome! You will se as you go down the rabbithole what they can do. My tip for next song is End of the road/Boyz to men - cover. There you will hear another side of them. Love your reaction. Thank you!

Helplessly Hoping, a Crosby, Stills, and Nash cover from the 70's, is short but beautiful! Johnny Cash's Folsom Prison Blues cover is pretty cool too. I know you want requests, but shoot, all of their songs are consistently so excellent, you could just get the long list of all of them, close your eyes, randomly pick one, and guaranteed you'd love it! But I agree about Mayday. Listen to a few to get acquainted with all their voices, then listen to that one and My Maria.

Yeah Homefree is my favorite vocal band Voiceplay is right up there with them. I'm going to see Homefree again Dec 7th at the Rymen Auditorium in Nashville can't wait!! You definitely should check out more Homefree and some Voiceplay if u like acapella and u like bass. Geoff Castellucci from Voiceplay is an Amazing Bass as well just like Tim Foust of Homefree. Geoff has his own Channel where he does his own solo stuff that is awesome you should check that out if u like a bass voice. Geoff does his own harmony in his videos and everything so it really shows his range its pretty awesome. Some Good Geoff Castellucci Solo Videos are Blackbird, High and Dry, Take Me Home Country Roads. Some Good Voiceplay songs Are Hoist The Colors, Friends On The Other Side, If I Were A Rich Man/Girl. Theres a few to get you started from Geoff Castellucci and Voiceplay. You got plenty of good suggestions from others for Homefree so I won't put any lol. Hope you enjoy the Homefree rabbit hole and yes you were crazy for not jumping on board sooner lol but you should also check out Voiceplay as they are a close second to Homefree in my rankings.

Trying to choose the better group is a fools errand. I love both Home Free and Pentatonix. Either group could perform the other’s music but not as well. But for what they each sing they are the best. Their arrangements are other worldly and are exquisitely tailored to extract the best of each of their voices. Each one of them could have careers of their own but with much less success. The art of what they do is how they combine their voices into something spectacular where you hear sounds that both seem to come from nature and yet rise above it.

You should hear all the cool percussion Adam Rupp does on the Sea Shanty Medley! Also, they did a remake of American Pie at the request of, and with, the original singer, Don Mclean! You'll hear more of Chance's baritone-tenor. They do a bunch of excellent Christmas music and that is coming up, so lots of fun! I especially like their "Do You Hear What I Hear?". Chris Rupp is the baritone on older pieces like that. He looks a little like Adam Rupp, his brother.

You will find that most Pentaholics are also Home Fries and vice versa. Both groups bring their own special sauce, so why choose a favorite? They are both amazing. To see just their sheer vocal talent, Helplessly Hoping (a Crosby, Stills & Nash cover) and How Great Thou Art (backdrop is the Austrian Alps) are sheer perfection. For their goofy side try their Butts Medley or Hillbilly Bone. When a Man Loves a Woman (recorded during the lockdown, so only Austin is in studio) is a must and features Austin's amazing tenor voice. Hold off on Mayday until you know these guys and are familiar with their voices. So many great songs, you can't go wrong with any of them.

Home Free is the real deal. Although they are country they sing all genres of music. This song is over 100 years old but was made famous in the movie O Brother Where Art Thou. Austin is the high tenor (lead here). Rob (glasses) tenor. Tim (bass) has a 5 octave range so he can go super low but also sing tenor. Chance (baritone) in the back row. And Adam is the beatboxer. Adam is a freak of nature. He can do drums, harmonica, bugs, all manner of noises. They are known for their harmonies. Brothers in Arms, One Man Band, Helplessly Hoping, In the Blood, Die a Happy Man to hear more great harmonies. Good reaction Megan!

The more you cover our guys, the more your channel will grow. Just as I discovered you on this one and went into your list and checked out your other reactions to them, more and more Home Fries will do the same. When it comes to Acapella, there is a Trifecta -- Home Free, Pentatonix and Voice Play. There is also a Trifecta of Basses, Tim Foust (Home Free), Avi Kaplan (formerly of Pentatonix), and Geoff Castellucci (Voice Play). It really isn't a competition between them, they all have strong fan bases, and the fans tend to like all 3 groups to one degree or another. That's because we may prefer one of the groups a bit more than the others (it's all personal choice), but we recognize the Pure Talent represented by the groups. I like some PTX, but I'm a solid Home Fry. I listen to Voice Play more than PTX, but I have some of theirs that I absolutely LOVE, as well. Don't try to compare the 3 groups, just sit back and be amazed by all of them :)

Here are some great songs to showcase the different members; Adam Rupp (beatboxer): "Adam Rupp Drum Solo". The guy can't be human. Austin Brown (Front and Center Tenor): "When a Man Loves a Woman". Amazing vocals. Rob Lundquist (Big Beard Tenor): "End of the Road". Rob goes to church on this one. Adam Chance (Baritone in the back left): "Blue Ain't Your Color". Has a wonderful Mo Town vibe. Tim Foust (Deep Bass, Baritone, and Tenor!): "Folsum Prison Blues". There's too many to really choose...

The bass is Tim Foust (5 octave range and song writer), Austin Brown (the guy singing most of the lead here) high tenor, also a song writer, he and Tim have written several songs that the group has recorded. Listen to Warmest Winter, it's a song Austin wrote for his Grandmother. Rob Lindquist sang the second verse, he's a tenor also. Adam Rupp, the beat boxer is amazing, he's won several world beat boxing competitions, if you like his harmonica check out their Sea Shanty Medley, he does a mean castinet. Last but not least is Adam Chance, baritone with a 4 octave range, he's the one doing the twenty mouth harp in this. Hope that helps. Great reaction by the way.

For warmth, humor, and manliness quotient plus the music--it is Home Free. For youthful stylistics and technical expertise plus the music--it is Pentatonix. They are equally good in their own ways as far as I am concerned.

Queen in 5 Minutes and Boy Bands in 5 Minutes are good ones to start with. Daddy Sang Bass is sweet with the guys' families showing up. Carry On Wayward Son and Bang! both have terrific guest singers. VoicePlay Chicken Song and VoicePlay Road Trip are hilarious live on stage numbers that shoudn't be missed.

I love Home Free first and PTX second. That all are so talented. Their live shows are superb too. All the men can sing the lead songs, they are all that talented. Austin Brown lead this song , he is the high tenor. Next you have Rob Linguist tenor, Rob has a rich mellow tone to his voice. Just beautiful. 3rd is Adam Chance, baritone and bass. Tim Foust is our bass and has a 5 octave range. The special young man with all the sounds is Adam Rupp. He is extremely talented and was a self taught beatboxer. He even taught himself drums so when he is making the drum sounds , he moves his arms as if he is playing the drums. He is the backbone of the group I think he is. Home Free has many covers they have done. And many originals too. I would like for you to react to Austin Brown’s cover of When a Man Loves a Woman. He is the lead for this song but al the guys are on camera too. This was during COVID-19. I sure hope you learn to love them as much as many of us do. Thank you so much..🎼🎶🦋🎵

Amazed that you missed that, after Tims' solo, when he joins in with the rest he drops down a full octave to really shore up the bottom. Please react to their "Ring of Fire" where Avi joins with the guys to pair with Tim.

It doesn't matter who's better. If you like their music, you like their music. I like Home Free sooo much. But, I like Pentatonix, too. Home Free is my favorite, but that's why there are so many different singers; to find what you like. Bless them all, all the singers who give us so much pleasure.

MissFriday, while you're waiting to figure out which song to react to next, you could do Home Free's rendition of John Mayer's "In The Blood" - you'll love it, I promise. It's been a while without new videos; I hope you are ok and well! I miss your shock and awe when reacting to HF :)

Top notes to bottom: High tenor/countertenor: (pretty boy with cowboy hat in this vid) Austin Brown Anchor tenor: (teddy bear with beard and glasses) Rob Lundquist Baritone/bass: (Tidy beard, shield-shaped face) Adam Chance, commonly called "Chance" to keep him straight from Adam-the-beatboxer Bass (up to tenor): (Tall, dark, and lanky) Tim Faust (Five octave range. Really. Just...really... He hits high notes *I* can't hit, and I'm a second soprano) Beatboxer: Adam Rupp, one of two founding brothers In older vids you will also see the other founding brother, Chris Rupp rather than Adam Chance, who was brought in when Chris went solo.

I love watching everyone's first reaction to Adam's "No-Monica" haha! Helplessly Hoping! The harmonies in it are stunning as well! But there are so many good ones, and they're so versatile, that you almost get to experience them for the first time all over again with each new song! Also for a fun lighter side and an even broader range of their abilities check out the Butts Melody ( aka Butts Remix)

The earliest of the harmonica with no harmonica was by one Micheal Winslow in Police Academy. He was beat boxing before it was cool. (just kidding, its always been cool). Back to the beatboxer here, that's Adam Rupp, outside of Home Free, he has won the world beatboxing championship twice if I'm not mistaken.

Others have recommended "When a Man Loves a Woman" and I certainly agree with that. While Home Free does do a lot of country, they aren't exclusively country such as "When a Man Loves a Woman", also check out their cover of Boyz II Men "End of the Road", and Rich Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up". They plain out had fun with "Never Gonna Give You Up" and it's absolutely hilarious (at least to those of us who remember the original song and the original video--if you have the opportunity, watch the original video first and then Home Free's cover). Austin is particularly having fun with "Never Gonna Give You Up". I also recommend their Sea Shanty Medley where you can hear Adam Rupp "play" the castanets (like he plays the harmonica).

To answer your question...Tim Foust is the bass; Austin Brown is the lead tenor with the hat; Rob Lundquist is the tenor in the overalls; Adam Chance (Chance because of two Adams)is the baritone who also sings bass; and far from least is the beatboxer extraordinaire, Adam Rupp. You may have been putting them aside because of being called a country group, but they sing everything from pop, religious, vintage as well as country. They are greatest in some of the live videos because of their personalities and reliability to their audiences. Hope you do more, because you'll love them!

Now you need to add another A Cappella group to your list of things to react too. The group is called "Voiceplay", they are more on the theatrical side but absolutely amazing. I don't know which to recommend because there are so many good ones. Voiceplay is on another level & will also have other people featured in their videos. Oh and the Bass in that group is... Well you'll see.

The person who started singing first is named Austin Brown, he's a high tenor with a super clear vocal tone, the second person who sang is named Rob Lundquist, he's also a tenor who has very soft and delicate vocals, the bass' name is Tim Foust. Tim has a 5-6 Octave vocal range and has really flexible vocals he might be a bassist, but he can also sing fairly high, you can see this in their cover of "Mayday" by Cam. Adam Rupp is the beat boxer, I'm not exaggerating when I say this, but his beat boxing sounds way closer to a drum set than most beat boxers out there. Adam chance is the baritone of the group, he usually covers the bass role whenever Tim does Solo and he also has a 4 Octave vocal range.
