All five can add percussion and also sing. The beatboxer Adam Rupp will sing harmony when drums are not needed. There were two doing the percussion in this song, Adam Rupp, tenor, with drums and harmonica sounds and Adam Chance bass-baritone, providing the jaw harp sounds. The two tenors are Austin and Rob. The bass is Tim Foust. For your next song, Don McLean asked Home Free to cover American Pie for the 50th anniversary. All four leads take a verse along with Don joining them.

The beatboxer Adam Rupp did everything with his voice. They have a new video cover of Garth Brooks, "Ain't Going Down Til the Sun Comes Up" on Facebook. It clearly shows Adam's harmonica talents.

Also, unless the genre they are singing calls for the country twang, it will almost disappear entirely from their voices.

You have just been introduced to the best a cappella group out there. This song blew me away when I first heard it & I was completely hooked. These guys are all so talented. They lean towards country but they can do any genre. They all can take the lead depending on whos voice is best for the song. They are known for their tight harmonies. Tim Foust is one of the best bass singers out there & their beatboxer vocal percussionist Adam Rupp can simulate any sound. Keep up your journey through Home Free. You will not find a bad song. Home Free are not about theatrics, it's about showcasing the song.

That's why I've always preferred Home Free and VoicePlay to Pentatonix. Pentatonix, respect to them, are more one-trick ponies. They're great at what they do, just not a whole lot of variation.

Home Free is the best--period. They are completely acapella and make all "instrumental" sounds themselves unless you see an instrument front and center (usually happens when they collaborate with other artists). Chance doing the jaw harp sound really sets the stage for this song's story. Tim's bass line completely grounds the harmonies and Adam's voice percussion simply cannot be beat. This performance highlights a lot of Home Free's strengths although they also handle just about any other genre amazingly!! My personal favorites are a cross-section of all the different genres they sing spectacularly: - How Great Thou Art (a classic hymn) - Try Everything (for the "small fries" but has a great message for all of us) - Helplessly Hoping (a harmony masterpiece) - Elvira with the Oak Ridge Boys (our guys just having fun) - Undivided (a HF original with a great message) - Mary Did You Know (a Christmas classic) - Quarantine (HF humor that helped us get through the COVID pandemic) - Timeless (a bit of nostalgia) - Spaceship (a touching tribute to family--Rob's in particular) - Hunter Hayes Melody (a fabulous compilation) You just really can't go wrong with any of Home Free's music❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️

Home Free is one of the best out there right now. They have done so well staying connected with their fans threw their videos even during lockdown. They work as a group, but also collaborate with others individually and solo. Tim Foust the bassist was inducted into the gulf coast country music hall of Fame a few years back. Their video archives are deeper that just about anyone out there right now. They have done American Pie with Don MacLean, they did God bless the USA with Lee Greenwood, they worked with Kenny Rogers doing Children go where I send thee, they did Christmas in Dixie with Alabama, Elvira with the Oak Ridge Boy's. They won season four of the sing off, the year after Pentatonix won. You have a very deep deep hole to go down with them that will blow your mind.

On "The Sing-Off" they beat out Voiceplay, which is also a great a capella group. Voiceplay did a cover of "Just Sing" with MANY other a capella artists, including Tim Foust. If you ever check that one out, be sure to turn on the captions. They included information about who everyone is, as well as some rather snarky remarks.

I'm not a fan of country, either, but this is my favorite group and I listen to them every day now. They didn't start out as country; they took that route as part of being on and eventually winning a singing show on TV. They do other genres, too, also they do serious songs and some very funny songs. And what you hear...it's all them, all the time.

The lead singer on this one, Austin, kept popping up with only one accompanist on my feed at the beginning of Covid, thought he was singing in his parents' living room, had no idea of the existence of Home Free. Then he popped up singing "My Maria" with Tim Foust in somebody's back yard. Tim's tenor/falsetto was amazingly clean and spot on. When the two started talking at the end of the video, I had to do a double take when I heard the timber of Tim's speaking voice. That was my introduction to Home Free and how I fell into the Home Free rabbit hole. So many great songs, crossing many genres. So jump down the rabbit hole and don't miss Adam Rupp's drum solos and as a woman, I also highly recommend the videos of other reactors typically entitled "Timgasms" - a very entertaining guilty pleasure.😉

Home Free & Voice Play are both awesome acapella groups who mix it up & don't become boring. Voice Play is a bit more theatrical but both use all their singers and often feature their bass singers Tim Foust (HF) & Geoff Castalucci(VP) as soloists which is amazing. Home Free has the most brilliant singers with skill & styles across many genres, fantastic harmonies & seamless arrangements. Any song is good to react to. Everybody walking this Land for Tim's bass, When a Man Loves a Woman for Austin's tenor, Cover me up for Chance's wonderfully smooth voice & End of the Road for Rob's blues & soul. Do you hear what I hear for arrangement, Helplessly Hoping for harmonies & Adam (beatboxer) sings too. All about that Bass & Butts Remix & Workin for a Living show their silly side. Great reaction💕

The guy who started us off is Austin Brown, he's a Tenor that can go really high, the second guy's name is "Rob Lundquist, he's also a Tenor, but his voice has a bit of a more delicate touch to it, the guy that's beatboxing and making all the Harmonica sounds is Adam Rupp, he's obviously the beatboxer, he doesn't use any form of instruments for help, all the percussion and harmonica sounds you hear are all Adam Rupp and the rest of the sounds you hear are the rest of the group, Adam Rupp is the closest personification you'll find to instruments. The Bass of the group is Tim Foust, he's a Bass that can also sing tenor roles, he has a 5 Octave vocal range, which is very impressive for a male. Last but not least, Adam Chance is the Baritone of the group, while Tim is singing his Solo, Chance takes over the role of Bass to cover for Tim and he does a darn good job at it, I doubt you'll read through this, but if you do, then please react to more Home Free before you react to their "Mayday".

Home Free, like Pentatonix, got a boost from winning a season of The Sing Off (PTX season 3, Home Free season 4). The Sing Off seemed to lay the foundation for acapella groups composed of soloists singing in a group. More groups than PTX and HF got boosts from appearing there: Groove for Thought, Street Corner Symphony, Committed (season 2 winners), Traces of Blue. All followed this pattern. Some have disbanded, but leave behind great music.

Great to see when people check out genres they may not usually listen to, or even have heard before 👍😎 The song is more "Delta Blues" than country, but it's a great introduction to these chaps.

All the sounds in this video are produced by voice and hands (shaping the not-a-harmonica sounds); no instruments. During the shoot in Georgia, USA, it started raining and they moved under the roof of a nearby building for the later scenes, such as when Tim, the basso profundo, was singing the third verse or when Chance was singing the chorus looking out into the rain. He was throat-singing the jaw harp for most of the song. While they are predominately Country, they also sing lots of genres, including Hip Hop (End of the Road), Gospel (Go Tell It on the Mountain), Folk (American Pie, w/Don McLean!), Rock (Elvira, w/The Oakridge Boys!), etc. They can cover lots of different styles, all excellently.
