It might be hard to find a 8ft tree in a pot because you have to take into consideration that the tree has to grow in there and I feel like that’s almost impossible.. you would have to fertilize the soil A LOT so the tree has enough nutrients to grow that tall xoxo

I couldn't figure out which I thought was more eco-friendly this year: a real tree you use once that isn't plastic, or a fake tree you can use year after year but is made of plastic, and I compromised with myself and bought a USED fake tree haha! FB Marketplace FTW!!! not adding to the need for them but still being able to reuse!! frick yeah!!

Such a great idea! I’m a college student and I’ve been really wanting to have some sort of Christmas tree for the holidays but i can’t afford anything right now. I currently have an ornament hanging off one of my snake plants and that’s me “tree”

getting a real tree is eco-friendly. it's a farm like any other. support your local farmer and buy their trees then compost or burn that shit - xmas farms are a great sustainable business

hey! not sure if yall have / already knew or anything but just in case :) it will help the tree search- ( i work at a tree nursery..in TX :P ) call around to different tree farms and nurseries that specialize in landscaping and asking about their 'burlap wrapped' or 'balled' evergreens and yall should be able to find what you are looking for! -those are the trees that have been grown somewhere, dug up and roots wrapped to be transported and planted somewhere new. you won't have to take the burlap off the roots will grow thru eventually! don't forget to use *ONLY* root enhancing fertilizer for the first 6-8 months when planting trees in the ground:) ily!! ps. i love all the shibori you have always had around your spaces!

you can use your spare boxes to put Christmas presents in maybe, my family and I do that with boxes from packages and then we wrap them up :)

A lot of shipping places accept things like bubble wrap/those poofy plastic things! I bring stuff my family accumulates to our UPS store so they can be reused. Be compassionate with yourself ❤️

i would save the smaller boxes for when you and fin move to your new place! i just moved a bit ago and used so many of my saved up boxes and was so happy i had some saved. they were great for organizing smaller things like trinkets and what not

I read that cardboard can be composted or used as mulch, they just have to be shredded in small pieces , i think thats something you could look into that may help :)

it can! as long as it’s not colored/dyed/free of stickers! we have a cardboard compost pile we inoculated with mushrooms!

Same feels facing the waste that I accumulate sometimes. The amazon boxes can be composted outside (as it is only cardboard) you just have to tear them down into smaller pieces and you're good to go. Vlogmas is off to a great start with sustainable chats and great cooking ! Much love

I like to paint on cardboard so I don’t have to buy canvases, & the waste turns into art I can hang in my home. I also cut up cardboard boxes and make drawer organizers for makeup or office supplies.

You could reach out to your local community on Facebook, and see if there are any local small businesses owners, that would like some of all the packaging stuff 📦💞 I resell secondhand homegoods, and try to be sustainable, so I send out a message to my local Facebook groups asking if anyone has spare boxes/bubble wrap they want to get rid of 🙌🏻♻️ loooving the vibe of your vlogmas btw!
