I have to say even after being in a car crash that car is still pretty clean and on the interior of the car you'd never know that car has been wrecked and when it was running everything had it's own place all of the wiring was nice and neat and I like how everything was either professionally crimped or had AN fittings and nut certs

I have to say the cage dud it's job and your right it don't look that bad until you have taken it apart and you can see the damage, alot of good parts. I feel bad for you I can't imagine what's it's like to take your car apart after all the memories. Hi Tony and Tess! Question on the Maverick build: noticed the drivers seat back braced by one tube with a piece of flat plate welded to it. Wondering why you didn't use a bent tube welded to the same crossover? It would seem (to a novice like me) that if Tess was ever unfortunate enough to have a roll over, the single tube could punch through the Aluminum seat back and become an impala hazard. Whereas the tube could brace the seat with more surface area. Looking forward to your thoughts! Thanks for your content and Happy new year!

Watching the crash from the in car angles, she wasnt against the back of the seat much after the car made a move and after impact barely in the seat. She could have suffered from a LOT worse injuries from that wreck but thank god she wasnt and she is still here for us to be able to laugh with her when she yanked the grinder cord and hit the helmet lol. From seeing her crash i have made several changes to my car and the first was throwing the aluminum seat out the car and installing a racetech seat that actually holds you in it. She was lucky and im glad.

@@young11984 this right here, the single tube and plate is common with race seats, and with the aluminum seats there isn’t much chance for it to punch through, carbon seats are a different story. I plan on going with a full containment seat with the next car though. Keep all my body parts in place a little better.

How bad was the car bent? Put new right hand skins?

The frame was about 6 inches shorter and 6 inches narrower than stock. The driveshaft safety loop broke in half, the floor, trans tunnel, and firewall all crumpled, the driveshaft was stuck inside the trans, the crank is bent, the steering shaft is bent, the seat was bent. It would be easier to start with a stock shell than to try and repair this one.
