Hi Danny. What a fun project. You have a terrific eye to designing this landscape. Wonder if you presoak the wood would help in the humidity and planted orchids to survive. Would think of it as a sponge and perhaps soak a week or two and the humidity level high keep it waterlogged ?

I wanted the Biorb also for the longest time but it's so expensive and you can only put some plants for the price 😁 thanks for your honest opinions and can't wait for the proper review. Have a fab day 💚🌿

Wow, Danny! I know I said that it seems dim but is actually quite bright? Yours is SO much dimmer than mine. My biorb lighting is TOO bright for some plants and I've actually covered a bit with electrical tape because it was burning the leaves. I don't know if there is something up with your lights or if they lowered the power in newer models. That's so odd!

@privateviewing Exactly! It's so strange that Danny's is so dim. She should contact Oase. They actually have really great customer service.

It is greaat!! I'd like to see some of Sophronites (now, cattleya) in the wood. they are mini epiphytes that can take droughts for a bit.

What would happen if you put something to wick water up the back of the piece of wood and under the orchid? Maybe dye a piece of white micro fiber cloth with tea or coffee to match the wood.

Nice video. I am quite interested in it but can you make it like a low temperature orb? I was wondering how's the temperature in it?

I think you did a beautiful job with your plants. I am wondering if the lighting is actually the reason for the moss not doing so well? Moss is usually in very shaded, slightly cooler environments. Either way, i think it will be a fantastic little world when you finish. ♡

Have you tried soaking the wood? It might help with the moisture issue.

Consider testing the light with a PAR meter (as opposed to Lux or Foot Candles) to see what light is available. It may be that the light that we're tuned into as humans is not the light which the orb is providing and perhaps the light available to the plants is sufficient.

Oh man. That looks so cool. They don't seem to sell them on the Biorb website itself though, which is weird. Discontinued? But that also saved me from buying it. Lol. Lord knows I don't need to drop money on something like this ATM.

Hey Danny. The bottom of my orchid pot is moist, but as you move up, the median is dry. It has not been watered for about 2 weeks. It is now Autumn, so the water won't really evaporate. In the summer the water would of evaporated already. The orchid also has a flower spike .Should I water my orchid, and is there a way to water orchids in Winter/Autumn? Thanks, stay safe :)
@Kirke9103 жыл бұрын
Try wicking out the last bit of water from the bottom after you water it. Basically, water like normal (soak, run pot with water, etc), let it sit and drain for several minutes. Last, take a paper or cloth towel and set the pot on it. I find the surface tension of the water holds a pool at the bottom even with drainage holes. Do this until no more water wicks out of the pot, then place back in it's usually spot. This will help the pot dry at the same rate top and bottom.

Can you even get one of those in the USA? I’ve looked and could never find one other than on European sites. And even there, its always sold out.
