Finally!!! got to see the great Elaine Stritch receive her first and only Tony award for At Liberty (from Chita) @53:20 (and presenting @1:48:05). They really shouldn’t have cut the speech… painful to watch.

well people take a look this is the last time we'll see Gregory Hines at the Tony Awards he'll pass away the following year (this will also be Jerry Orbach's final tony awards as well) too many RIPs most recently Anne Heche and Gavin Creel can we please get Michelle Lee back on stage? how many one man shows did Leguizamo do? Don't worry Laura you'll get yours in 2008 (I mean I did watch that one yesterday) I did not see Mamma Mia onstage I saw the film version and I hate how open ended it was They did revival of a Play early (but they didn't really start describing everything til the following year) and thus begins Sutton Foster's career as a leading lady that's odd I don't recall Lithgow winning in 1993 (I think the announcer screwed up) I don't know who the hell was making that noise behind Calista Flockhart but that was rude how is it that the Fantastiks never made it onto broadway (and I thought Agatha Christie's Mousetrap took forever to get here, hope it gets the Tony love it should be getting) lookout people we are going to be seeing ALOT more of Hugh Jackman on the Tony Awards stage okay I don't want to say Oklahoma was robbed but they'll get theirs in 2019 (I mean Into the Woods would get revived again but it was a very competitive year for revivals) A recently freed from Hollywood Squares Whoopi (but the H2 era sucked!) I kind of wish they didn't stop showing the PBS Ceremony Because not everyone had a dvd player yet.....unless you used the one that came with your PC oooo Sutton got the classic broadway story I wonder what happened to the person that was supposed to be Millie) *one google later* really? maybe not the smartest move there Kristin (she chose her ill-fated sitcom)

Whoopi won the Tony and the Emmy this year giving her the EGOT but she may have won the Emmy later. I’m surprised they didn’t make a note of this as she was the first African American woman to win the EGOT.

The video is 'backwards' ... the main show ends with MTM and best musical. Everything after that, in actual time that night, took place beforehand. So the two halves are transposed as shown here

What about the end of the awards. This is not complete. I think Urinetown won best musical, but the show is cut off at the end.

The show is complete. At the end you have the technical awards, presented earlier. And Urinetown didn't win. Thoroughly modern Millie did.
