Lol Trudy you reminded me that when I was young I use to watch my father's clothes and the first thing I did, was to check his pockets and put every coin I found there somewhere so that when he returns I give them to him, even is 5 cent. When he noted this he started to reward me by giving to me all what I found in his pockets. I enjoyed those coins and notes sometimes.

Washing the rice removes some of the excess starch. Starch turns to sugar in the body and Black people are prone to very high incidents of diabetes so getting rid of sone of the starch helps you can even go farther getting rid of even more starch by straining (draining) off the water (mar)the rice is cooked in half way through and let it finish cooking on low heat by letting the moisture steam it to completion and enjoy nice loose fluffy cooked rice grains. Eating the bottom of pot must be a West African thing because it is a “Thing” in the Islands in the Caribbean and South America we call it “bun bun” and in the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico they call it “ con con” or pegao or pegado

Adding salt and lemon to wash them will not only remove the bateria but also remove the excess oil in the chicken.
