Oh, yes, I know Journey very well! My youngest son got me into Journey when he was in high school. His favorite band turned into mine also. I love their songs of WHEN YOU LOVE A WOMAN and FATHILY. Steve Perry was my favorite frontman. but the frontman for this is Amel Penda, who became Journey's frontman when Perry retired. and is excellent also. Sounding much like Perry did, Amel is from the Philippines of course😊

This is indeed by "Journey", but with the replacement singer who was added to the band because of his ability to recreate the original singers vocal talents. The original singer was Steve Perry who sang the song which was the most downloaded/"listened to" song during the 20th century.

People saying that nobody can replace steve perry in a negative tone. Let me tell you the hard truth, gentlemen. Arnel did not replace perry because he is irreplaceable. Steve left back in 1998 due to health reasons and refuses to return even years later saying that he never really felt being part of journey. Arnel and steve had 10 years gap between them. Arnel filled in the void so journey can continue sharing the great music steve and the members created years back.

Would love for you to react to Journey - Don't Stop Believing with Steve Perry singing (or any of their other songs). Steve is definitely a favorite for anyone who grew up on Journey. Steve Perry's solo work is great as well. Journey was my first concert in 1980 and the most recent concert was Journey with Arnel a year or so ago.

They don’t know Morissette. International caliber has different taste than Filipino. Arnel never gave a chance in the Philippines because his music style and looks are not fit in a 3rd world country. Like Charice who lost against good looking kid who’s talent is way below Charice by a large margin. They love the likes of Martin Nievera who keeps failing in Auditioning in Hollywood and different music performing arts in the US😂😂😂, that is Philippines quality. Morissette is great and I hope she will reach what Charice lost so the Philippine music crictcs would embarrass again that they always not picking the best talent in every competition.

Of course the original journey frontman Steve Perry will never be outshadowed even by his closest mimic, arnel pineda. But can you please tell me is there anybody else in this world who can sing as close to steve? This is the early days of arnel with journey and since then he has become even better improving on his accent and diction! "Just a city boy born and raised in south Detroit". I grew up in that area. In Detroit we call the south side delray. That area is infamous for abandonment, working girls, homelessness, and heavy drug addiction. I knew a woman who died at the age of 37 because of her drug addiction that lived in that area. Sad depressed area that attracts a lot of down and outs.

just my little FYI in regards to journey....they were formed in 1973, steve perry was not the original lead singer of the band, he was HIRED in 1977 to be their lead singer. before that, the original lead singer was gregg rollie, their keyboard player. the band was ready to set to tour in support of their album trial by fire in 1996, but steve perry could not do the tour due to a hip injury and he later announced he was leaving the band that same year. in 1998 he was replaced by another steve...steve augeri who also left the band in 2006 due to a throat ailment. augeri was briefly replaced by jeff scott soto.......arnel pineda was hired in 2007 after founding member neil schon found him in youtube singing faithfully during a lengthy search. arnel pineda is now the longest tenured lead singer in the band, 2007 to present.

Great story about Arnel Pineda. Neal Schon discovered Arnel on KZbin singing Journey cover songs. They were looking for a singer to fill in after the absence of Steve Perry. Other singers joined their band, but none came close to Steve's vocals, except for Deen Castronovo, the drummer in this video. Then came Arnel Pineda. The rest is history. Of course no one could top the likes of Steve Perry with the original Journey line up. This song, and all versions/covers of it, have become my personal theme song! Ever since I heard it in the (admittedly not that great but still enjoyable) Adam Sandler Disney movie, Bedtime Stories, I really wanted to know what this song is and learn the words and more stuff about it! Eventually, around my final few months of Middle School, I was reintroduced to this beautiful song in music class, then during a school dance, and finally on the car radio when my parents picked me up from that dance! I then decided to make a relatively simple lyric video of the song to show my class during the last week of school, and the rest is history!

Arnel is an excellent replacement for Perry. His vocals are very similar which keeps the sound of the original Journey songs true to their original sound. That said, one of the most memorable concerts I have attended was the 1982 Texas Jam in the Cotton Bowl stadium Dallas Texas with Journey headlining the show. It was at the height of the bands popularity with Steve Perry and they sounded better live than in their recordings. Simply phenomenal.
