I flew PAL Premium Economy to the Philippines on the A350-900 and I also flew the Business Class on the return flight. Premium Economy grants you slightly more space and slightly more privacy as there are fewer seats in PE than in Economy. The seats all have access to 110v charging but most people will either use an ipad or iPhone which can easily charge on the provided USB ports. Economy seats all have USB, but they don't all have 110v. BUT, Business Class is truly worth the money while Premium Economy isn't. Business Class grants you access to the PAGGS lounge in Nimoy Airport prior to your flight and gives you better meal/alcohol service on the flight as well as a superior seat that lays flat. I really prefer what Singapore Airlines is doing now with the A350 Long Range model: They have made 80% of the flight Business Class while the remaining 20% is Premium Economy. The 16 HOUR FLIGHT from JFK to Manila is grueling, but being in Business Class literally made me feel as if that flight was only half as long. It was more comfortable and I was able to eat and drink comfortably. I was able to take better, more restful naps and before you knew it, we were landing and the flight had ended. Hopefully, more airlines will use the A350 and Boeing 787 in such a manner as to make the long range flights more comfortable.

Are the seats noticeably wider than economy class? Or are they just spaced apart more but are the same size?

Premium economy looks cramped and almost the same as Economy . But there's no Business Class so it will have to do
