Missy Peregrym on working with former agents to prepare for "FBI" role

For nearly 20 years, Missy Peregrym has played strong female characters on TV and in movies. The actress' latest role brings her to New York to play special agent Maggie Bell in the new CBS drama "FBI." Peregrym joins "CBS This Morning" to discuss the new series and how this role differs from others she's had before.

Also special agent Maggie Bell is a great character because her gender is not an issue because she is just great at her job. This is a lesson to writers trying to create a strong female lead if she is good at her job it doesn't matter who you are the audience is going to be invested in the outcome.

Great show, but I have one minor complaint that drives me nuts! Who the heck styles the Maggie character? Her wardrobe is absolutely dreadful! I know that she's supposed to be a 'professional' blah blah blah. But who made this new rule that professional women are not allowed to look like women in real life? As if any woman with Peregrym's looks would dress as frumpily as Maggie does. Yes she has to look professional, yes stilettos and micro mininskirts are out, but looking vaguely like a woman should not be. There's a fairly young female detective living down the street from me. I've seen her going to and from work. She doesn't look like a runway model, but she still looks like a woman. A professional woman, who can no doubt handle her business if she has to, but a woman nonetheless. I think NCIS does a far better job of styling their female characters.

It's early and they may evolve if the show continues. I remember that they did kinda the same thing with Olivia Benson on SVU but in the other seasons they start to change up her wardrobe. So hopefully if they give the show a chance maybe we see a change.
