Every up and coming DJ should be forced to watch this to realize how coolness sounds like.

That fact that this is 93 is just mind-boggling. Cant believe rectangle won with that gimmicky BS. One of the biggest robberies in DMC history.
@Sonnylintag9 ай бұрын
There is many. How about Steve Dee getting robbed in the DMC before. Juggling just was almost too complex for judge’s to understand
@bubz3t1362 ай бұрын
I used to think the same, but watching it now, I realise Sinister was a bit sloppy at times here. It's funny how he came second to another crazy white boy in the same battle, two years after this, when Swamp won. Both battles were a really close call. Sinister was really unlucky. to come so close two times.

Classic set by Sinista. His beat juggles are clean af. He should've been the USA champion this year off that "I got another funky break for you" beat juggle. That shit was sick!

I wish DMC would digitize the old video tape recordings.

This routine got me started in production 20+ years ago. The day after I watched it, I bought myself a set of Techniques 1200’s, and a Gemini scratch master mixer!!

As I look through out the years. There was more than one time that an X-man was robbed in the finals. Steve D 1990, Mr. Sinister 1993, Total Eclips would have taken the title in 1997. Slyce wet the bed that year.

Some people might also mention the '93 Supermen battle, against 8-Ball. The pitch routines that 8-Ball was doing were so new to most people back then, that it was obvious he was going to win.

Nice thanks! yep sounds clean as.. DMC may even have the original footage, you could try contact them about it.. I don't think this set was ever release on dvd. This has always been one of fave routines

Back when turntablism was simple and funky and reflected the goldern era of hip hop sound rather than the euro techno shit that killed turntablism.

I think i.emerge set off the death of funk in DJ battles. Actually, I was saying this in KZbin comments as far back as 2006.
@FunkyChild7182 ай бұрын
@@bubz3t136 Haha, I think it was more Scratch Perverts and the European DJs, but yeah Merge had some preset scratch record juggles, but at least Merge was still funky and highly skilled. The feedback techno shit with the needles was the end of it. To me Sinista was the peak of the funky juggling. His shit sounded like real 90s hip hop production without being corny. I think Method Man and SWAT are possibly my favorite juggles of all time. Even better than Craze, Atrak etc. Neil Armstrong SWV is also up there for me - basically melodic 90s beats that could actually be their own song.
