What an incredible era. I worked at a DJ store in Lake Worth, FL in the late 90's/early 2000s and this is all I played in the store. These never get old. I still have all these on VHS but no VCR lol. Great times.

The REAL BATTLE WAS... WHICH NEEDLES TO USE !!! Stanton, Shure, and Pickering. I have been in many DJ WARS and the choice of needles and record disection was on deck. DJ battles are different, I'm not a fan of the push button to beat juggle but not too many DJ's have no idea how to go into battle just using the turntables and mixer. When I battled DJ Spinbad, Tat Money, Jazzy Jeff, Grand Wizard Rasheen and many Philly DJ's in the early to mid 80's and NMS regional battles it was about personal skills. We made battling entertaining body tricks, turning the turntable in more positions unimaginable, word play, beat juggling. To all the newbies master your craft have your own style and make it look strong.

I’m glad to have been apart of the behind the scenes and battle at this time..to see the stages built from Day one to the last turntable out of the Hammerstein Ballroom with Christie Z and A along with Tony Prince was the beginning of so much for my career.
