My error was thinking there was always a better product out there and I needed to try them all. Nah, the basics are shampoo, conditioner, and moisturizer. I use Kinky Curly Come Clean, Knot Today, and Curling Custard only cuz overtime I started getting a reaction to conditioner so I had to stop using it, but my hair isn’t dry cuz Knot Today can be used as a rinse out/detangler/leave-in conditioner and it’s formulated to seal the cuticle, so that’s how I get by without using conditioner. You gotta do what works for you.

100%. I was a strict product minimalist for a good chunk of my journey and my hair was thriving either way. I’m actually planning a video on this ❤

Just cut my hair earlier this week. Curls are so much bouncier now after getting rid of split/dead ends. Going to be sticking to a simpler routine and making sure to keep my hair well moisturized and detangled.

Congratulations!! I am excited for your new hair journey! I am just itching to cut mine once I get back home ❤ simple is best!

You're so right about needing to let go of the fact that our hair needs to always be perfectly defined. I always get compliments on my hair on days I feel it looks "bummy".

Also, I've found that twistouts often look best on me starting from stretched hair, either blown out or brushed out. Good curly hair stylists to listen to are: MoKnowsHair, Manes by Mell and Africanhairgod.

the biggest issue i have with my natural hair journey is that i didn't learn how to do my hair growing up so learning how to do new styles at my big age (i'm in my early 30s) it feels like some things I likely won't learn because i don't have the time to dedicate with other necessities like work. but as soon as my head looks in the direction of hairstylists there's all kinds of alarm bells and rants you can find with how hairstylists are more problematic in the internet age...so here i am just doing my hair the only way i know how (currently keeping it in twists for now)

Very common for many of us, it’s perfectly fine to stick to a routine that works for your lifestyle ❤ every now and then, hopefully you can try something new and see if you like it!

As a natural content creator I love this video. Never had a silk press but currently growing my hair back from a braided that damaged it. Thank God natural hair is resilient. Keep going on your journey ! ♥️ BTW found you on tiktok ! Love your content !

Thank you! I’m sorry to hear that you’re going through something similar. Our hair is definitely resilient, it will grow back healthier! Wish you all the best too, thanks for watching me on here too ❤

I have traveled this path before. My greatest error was heeding the advice of others instead of following what is best for me. It took some time, but I now understand. Which Redken product did you apply?
@celestialjojo_Ай бұрын
Seems to be common for so many of us! Our hair thrives when we learn what works best for it. I used their Acidic Bonding Concentrate Shampoo, Conditioner, and leave in!

90% of us natural gurls can relate to the huge mistake we made with heat styling 😂 I decided to do a healthy hair journey without heat after the first of this Year. I’m a silky type 4. Best decision I ever made 😊 finally I got to know my curly coils thru and thru for myself ❤

Yes, it’s so common sadly. This is a good idea! I love that you fell more in love with your hair ❤

have you found a good hair stylist for natural hair? i'm in AZ too and i need a trim! 🙏🏾
@celestialjojo_Ай бұрын
Not since my favorite stylist left 😢 I have been looking at Perfectologyaz on Instagram for the past month, she offers a lot of services! I plan on going to her after my big chop so she can clean it up and I will probably vlog or review my experience. She does blow dry trims too.
