You are so very inspiring and thank you so much for sharing with us all. I have a vision impaired friend Claudia Nigrelli (from montreal Canada) who happens to be a motivational speaker and much much more and she just graduated with her first guy dog and I’m having a blast sharing some of that experience! I had no idea the level of freedom that a dog brings to someone that has vision impairment. Keep the vids coming they are awesome!

The part with yelling at the vet: If that was me, I would be concerned about what’s going on too. I’m VERY CLOSE to receiving my first guide dog soon! I’m on a waiting list for a match from Guiding Eyes For The Blind. The admissions department will call me once they found a dog. Thanks for sharing your experiences with Zenith! I know I’ll make mistakes sometimes when I get my guide dog, but I think I’ll learn a lot from it.

Im jewish and during my first time taking my service dog to our high holy day services ( packed audience like on christmas) my dog fell asleep and starts snoring, barking softly and running in place on her side. I was mortified,,everyone around me is laughing and the service stops to figure out whats going on

@ArkiessAtYourService Dont sweat it honestly. Im always critical of my dog but honestly everyone else just found it adorable. Im much more relaxed now plus she doesn't do that anymore

I absolutely loved this Kay. I think my favorite with you yelling at the vet. That would totally be me, knee-jerk reaction to the fact that my dog is yelping never mind the fact that I know nothing about that medicine and I feel that does. I’m sure she understood that it was just a mom and think about it and I bet she had it happened to other people before. Also I left your mind went straight to the logistics of caring out the dead dog, not to mention the fact that since he’s a golden retriever you probably wouldn’t have been able to lift him anyway. So glad he was safe out and I would’ve definitely been tears at the traffic check to especially if they told me that the trainer would warn me about it and then I didn’t

Loved this video. I'm just training with my guide dogs so I am sure there will be embarrassing moments to come haha xx Emma xx

That's so cute about Zenith's sleeping noises! I wonder what he dreams. There's a What About Bunny video where Bunny the dog uses her talking buttons to describe her dreams. Hers was about a "stranger animal". 🥰 My service dog burps sometimes. He's a Golden Retriever, so he has a deep voice. That applies to his burps too. The first time he burped (loudly) in public, other people in the aisle jumped. Took me a minute to realize his burps sound a little like a growl if someone doesn't know him.

Odd question...I don't know if you use a voice reader to read comments. If you do, does it describe emoticons? I used a smiley with hearts, but realize it might be annoying via a translator.

You're not alone with the chest not rising. Lol. There have been plenty of times when I feel my girl's chest not moving and I freak out then call her to make sure she's breathing. It's scary in the moment but after it's kind of funny.

Bella my service dog talks in her sleep as well. She also likes to act like a goofball rolling around on her back being a crazy dog. She has been doing that a lot more recently at restaurants and stores. I think it is cute and funny but I know I need to stop her. When she was less than a year old she had 3 accidents in stores. 1x in the grocery store, 1x at target and 1x at the mall. Very embarrassing and I am paranoid about her doing it again even though it hasn't happened in more than a year.

One thing I would clarify with the traffic check is that the car is not actually going to hit you (at least this is not always the case), especially in training. It may just be that the car is too close to you to be considered safe. There are definitely scary traffic checks though. I get the knee-jerk reaction with the vet. My dog hates to fly. I don’t typically wake her up when she is dreaming, and yes I’ve had her dream in meetings and class.

Aww my cat does the deep sleeping noises too. I have a question I don't want to be rude but you have to take a guide dog on off duty walks or is guiding enough exercise for the day? Thanks great video
@fromkaytozee81323 жыл бұрын
Some people take their guide dogs on off duty walks, and some do not. It depends on the specific person and dog and what is best for them. I prefer not to walk Zenith off harness. He usually gets enough exercise in a day just by working, but if he doesn’t, I play ball with him, take him swimming, or take him on an on duty walk. Neither he nor I particularly like my cane, so it makes more sense for us to have him work on walks.

Also I am desperately trying to stop clucking at my dog like a horse and using constant verbal talk to help him get what we're doing instead of him just freaking knowing. because he knows! but I was a horse girl so I talk. all the time. frickin heck.
