If your like me, and running a system off of a stock alternator (1500 watt or less) then In my opinion, the ONE thing you can actually cheap out on is your subs, just know the cheap subs power ratings are exaggerated. I have 2 boxes, one with dual bottom shelf $25 PYLE 6.5" subs, and one $75 Audiopipe 15" , they both sound great! Just do NOT cheap out on your Amps, wiring, & Door speakers. Ive also cheaped out hardcore on my $99 Android head unit, but with a DSP in the mix, its no issue at all and sounds AMAZING!

Cheap ends up being more expensive when you are constantly trying to upgrade. I usually tell people to use the best power cable they can get. Paying an arm and a leg of wire sucks (welding wire like eletronbeam wire is a lot cheaper than car audio labeled wire and works as well but may be a bit less flexible) but wiring with some decent 1/0 OFC the first time makes a future upgrade easier. I se a lot of people get a first amp that uses 4 gauge and they wire with that but a few months later they go to 1500w and end up having to uninstall all the 4 gauge and then buy the 1/0 anyway and have to install it. Cheaper and easier to start with big wire and use reducers to connect to the amp if it is too big.

You left out a lot of information like cca vs ofc. You mention box size but don’t mention that the box specs should match the sub specs. You mentioned absolutely nothing on beefing up your electrical system. A lot of ppl can figure out that their amp pushes so many watts at a specific ohm load, but they always forget about volts. A 2000 watt amp can only do 800 watts with a 110 amp alternator. No matter how big your amp is, it’s not going to do over 1000watts on stock electrical without the help of a secondary battery.

Also you gotta keep in mind is the bass bug after a while you just get used to the stuff you got this is coming from like I’ve got sundown Zv6 15s four in a sixth and I was happy but now I need more and in my head it feels like it’s not as loud as it used to be, but I know it’s just me

Killing bass performance is a bit much. Whether it's aimed up, back, forward, it all works, neither option will kill the bass enough to matter.

It depends on the box i had a small bandpass box and when the ports were facing towards there was no bass but when i faced the ports away there was plenty of bass

Bass waves are long, enclosure configuration/direction can certainly have a huge effect on what's perceived in the vehicle.

@@Durkhead I put a bandpass box in my nieces grand marquis up under the rear deck facing forward in to the seats. It was only a 10" sound ordinance. Sounded great. Suggesting there was no bass is being completely dishonest, try again.

@@satanertau2689 The changes in a vehicle simply won't alter anything enough to make a massive difference. Even in the biggest vehicle like a suburban, you're only talking about 6 feet or so back there to adjust things? Sorry, just not enough to suddenly kill all the bass.
