I love your ensuite window! It's not too late to recess the mirror cabinet into the wall given it's plaster board and not tile!! Great vid....

After watching this I have just looked at my bathroom sinks that are being plumbed in tomorrow and wondering if they are too shallow. Your house looks great you should be really proud there will always be things you want to change.
@Jessroseparr2 жыл бұрын
ahh thanks so much!! ooh I hope they went in ok? I don't think a shallow sink is too much of a problem its just if you have anything hung above it that can get in the way of face / hand washing.

5:12 - take a notch out of the green shelving unit on both sides so looks intentional but gives more access to side of dryer panel ?
@jaymac-uu8vt2 жыл бұрын
Perhaps you could use a Billy bookcase with doors for the shallow side - they are 26 cm deep without the doors about 30 cm deep with them. The Pax wardrobes are 350 deep without the doors. Perhaps have all hanging space long and short on the deep side and shelves on the shallow side!

Wow that is such a fantastic idea. I LOVE IT!!! And great shout having folded stuff in the Billy. I can’t wait to get started on this now.

Such a helpful video! We're looking to get two silent extractor fans installed in our bathrooms as well. Do you know the brand of the one your electrician recommended by any chance?
@janettethatcher42572 жыл бұрын
I know what you mean with the extractor fan! Ours operates on humidity but it comes on randomly and stays on for ages when we have a change in the weather!!! I think you've done a great job on your house, I've loved following what you have done, very brave! And getting through very awkward times, well done both 👍😁
@Jessroseparr2 жыл бұрын
Ahhh thanks so much!!! Haha yes the extractors always feel like they’re on in our house too haha

Do you have a light switch and extractor fan switch? Doesn’t look like it but our builder oddly advised us we needed them
@lightx5007 ай бұрын
5:12 you can get it plumbed, so there will be no need to empty it go to drain direct :)

Actually what I will be doing in my newbuild bathroom is painting every wall in that washable paint and then going over it in a kind of stippling motion with a super matte paint in the same color creating some kind of lime wash effect, which is still easy to wipe down👌🏽
@Jessroseparr2 жыл бұрын
ohhh LOVE this idea! so you have the durability and beautiful lime wash texture!

"We learn from our mistakes". Great idea to do this video and I would love to see one on the things that you love and that work well too. I agree about quality taps. Cheap ones just don't last and always need replacing. Washable paint is an easy one to rectify especially if you plan on having children and sticky fingers as well as Winnies shaking. The different coloured light switches is a strange one, not that I'd noticed in the videos, but now that you've pointed it out, .... why? You've done an amazing job and those few errors are to be expected as you learn your trade. Have you had the house re-valued since the Reno? Would love to hear how much it is worth now compared to before.
@Jessroseparr2 жыл бұрын
So so true! I won’t be making any of these mistakes next time 🤣🤣 I know I still look around at the light switches like WHY?! Another thing I think I’ll change as we need to get an electrician to sort the switch in the garden office so whilst they’re here I may give them more work to do lol. Yes we did! It has almost doubled in value! But we need to remember we spent almost £200k on it so that’s not all profit.

Ahhh that’s so so good to hear! I really love crosswater taps - not that I have experience of them in my own house 🤣🤣 but my parents have them! The ceiling light is form west elm called “champignon”

You can get a slimmer medicine cabinet from Ikea with mirror. Simple and they are not expensive or you can get a mirror and be creative with the staff you have in the medicine cabinet. If you have cosmetics you can get a basket lets say. I agree with the eggshell paint but it is easy update. The house is lovely, no need to change anything right away but change the thing that bothers you the most. For me is the medicine cabinet right now. Hope to create the best memories. ❤❤❤❤❤👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

What's the difference between eggshell and silk paint? I thought eggshell was wood paint? X
@Jessroseparr2 жыл бұрын
Eggshell has less sheen to it. Traditionally its used for woodwork but it can also be used on walls if you want a matt look but with a tough coating.
