I could see it being for Vin. The lightheartedness seems to convey that she is a young girl. I could see it as something played when she's "pushing" herself around a city at night. It has a feeling of movement and travel to me.

She's not lighthearted though. Allomancy to her is freedom and power, not fun. Kelsier describes her as "sixteen, and already a match for Marsh in seriousness."

i can imagine this playing while she dances in the balls--and jumping rooftop to rooftop, on the spires--her steps and bounds indicating a note...it is lovely, it has her grace

This is a great foundation for Vin’s theme. Keep the basic structure, but reinterpret it with different keys and instruments to account for the different situations Vin finds herself in. Keep this version for when she’s happy, or when she’s being romantic with Elend. But consider a more powerful, serious, and tense arrangement of this theme to be her “hero” music. That’s the wonderful thing about themes, they can be so flexible and tell so many different stories with such small shifts of tone and timing.

This was so beautiful. I think it fits Vin’s perfectly when she is excited. Her inner joy peeks out throughout the series, and this tune captures that very well. I think you could do what michael giacchino did for Pixar’s up. That theme had variations for sad and dark parts of the film. You could do the same with this.

This is beautiful. I really think this more fits vin's Valette persona with all the classical notes, but man, this is fantastic. It has the subtle electric in the background to convey the fact that there is a strong person beneath the lighthearted exterior.

Really nice! I was thinking about writing something for Mistborn, but looks like you beat me to it. lol But this has a great motif! I can hear just how Vin is discovering the power and being trained to wield it.

The low 'chime' sound at the beginning and end coupled with the bass line sounds similar to the Top Gun opening music.

It's so beautiful! Maybe more for Valletta though. I think vins theme should have a fewer more scared darker undertones, but nothing overwhelming. Just something to give it tension

SPOILERS isn't there a scene where Vin and Elend say 'fuck this' and just bust out some full-on pewter-burning dance moves? This seems like it could work for that scene

Piano trills give this a more 'classical' feel at points which I don't think fit with Vin. Song overall has a positive/adventurous feel to it instead of a more dark / weight of the world feel which I would have expected. Nice piece, just don't think it fits, sorry.

Thanks for your thought! Yes, I agree it is a bit on the positive end. It's also not energetic. I guess this I should have called it "for Valette", as it only represents part of Vin's character.

rumschuettel Listened to it again with this in mind and I agree, it fits Valette. A classical feel but still has the underlying tones to convey there's more beneath the surface.
