MiSTer FPGA Irem M107 Arcade Core Gets a BIG Update!

Last year the M92 Alpha core from Wickerwaka appeared...so I did some previews of the WIP developments for MiSTer! Because retro gaming arcade love knows no bounds and now that MiSTer has a brand new reworked Irem M107 FPGA core its time to update that video because this new core is just so much better in every way! Whether its MiSTer FPGA N64, MiSTer FPGA Sega Saturn or now a new MiSTer FPGA Irem M107 core 2024 has been a hot year for FPGA gaming. SO let's do a MiSTer FPGA review! now for the Irem M107 MiSTer FPGA core! MiSTer FPGA review time! Classic arcade games incoming!

I asked, you answered...and I try to listen :) Of all the requests for new content on the channel one of the most frequently asked for videos is a series on the Terasic DE-10 Nano MiSTer FPGA hardware...so here it is! Retro gaming goodness.
On this episode of our MiSTer series we are going to be talking about the recent happenings in the MiSTer FPGA arcade scene in regards to the Irem M107! In the last few MiSTer news episodes I have been talking about the fact that a core for this arcade classic was in the works...and its fully released and available for everyone to enjoy :)

Arcade/shmup-wise, I'd love to see a PGM core. DOJ, Espgaluda, Ketsui, and of course, Demon Front as a bonus. Not sure how feasible it is, but it would be ace.

I maybe tried this game on mame along the way, but it never did anything for me. I´m enjoying it much more now, this is a solid one. It´s kind of easy but not without it´s challenges (can´t do it with just one "coin" yet). The sound is so-so, nothing special, but everything else works really well and the effects are great. I give this game 👍👍. By the way, Flying Shark is one that I´m eagerly awaiting... Twin Cobra I can play on the Playstation Core...

It’s a solid B tier shmups but it’s one more MiSTer core and that’s even better

@@VideoGameEsoterica 4 weapons plus power-ups, the ship moves very smoothly and even though it´s a generic world where the action is happening it has a few good moments where we can see parallax scrolls and zooms, cool stuff. My metric for shmups is if the game makes you come back for another try and you want to finish in just one go, it´s a winner. There are many shooters where stuff gets pretty overwhelming and I consider myself a seasoned player... Anyway 🙂
