I'm sure the Multisystem 2 use one of the same Cyclone V variants that the DE10-Nano, QMTech or MiSTer Pi use... but it does beg the question... the MiSTer FPGA devs are looking for a new, more powerful board with an FPGA that has more LEs / features... maybe they could work with Heber to design and produce that board... rather than relying on an off-the-shelf dev board from one of the traditional FPGA dev board providers. Terasic is coming out with a DE25-Nano... and there has been some speculation that that could be the MiSTer 2 board. We'll just have to wait and see.

Some MiSTer devs are in communication with Terasic about the DE25 that includes and upgraded FPGA and ARM chip. A MiSTer dev spoke about it at RetroWorld Expo. @@LusRetroSource - Thanks for the reminder. I had watched that video with Kitrinx(sp?) when you originally posted it. I think at that time the specs of the DE25 series wasn't quite settled. Just did a search and I'm not not sure if I'm comprehending what I read, and the Nano version I don't think is available yet, but the DE25-Standard model is using an FPGA with 138K LEs which IS a bump up from 110K of the Cyclone V in the DE10-Nano. Is that enough for a MiSTer 2? I'd call it a MiSTer 1.25. Obviously it does have faster RAM (DDR4 vs DDR3), and more HPS but I think it is RISC-V-based rather than ARM... so that's going to be quite the change I imagine. There are some Linux distros that will run on RISC-V but there still isn't much, if any, mainstream RISC-V hardware (other than embedded stuff like network attached storage, and a few hobbyist single-board-computers like Raspberry Pi style) out there. At the very least, RISC-V is open source hardware and there aren't any royalty nor licensing fees associated with using it... so that has the potential to reduce cost some. I do realize that any significant bump in LEs is going to have an associated cost increase... so maybe we will have to proceed with baby steps. :)

Will be great if that Multisystem 2 can develop into the commonly accepted successor of the DE10 Nano-based solutions at a fair price with no nonsense. i have a lot of faith in those guys as they are a well-established company that can get stuff done and released with no fuss.

The DE-10 Nano already uses the largest Intel (Altera) Cyclone V SOC FPGA at 110K Logic Elements, so there is no likelihood of a bigger FPGA. Any FPGA change would also require re-synthesis of all the current cores for the new FPGA, meaning you'd have to download the correct core for the correct FPGA device.

Hello, how can I make NTSC games work in "Dendy" mode on the whole screen? without black bars at the top and bottom..?
