You could have made the "gross" pizza at least edible looking by cutting the banana, pineapple and pickles smaller and adding mozzarella. Blue cheese alone doesn't work, because it won't tie the ingredients together. Aside the banana, I think that the "gross" pizza might actually be good that way.
