It's not just his colour, it's his body as well. He's so slight compared to all other sprinters, which makes his achievements even more impressive. Based on their body shapes I sometimes wonder whether him and Allyson Felix were two of the only ones not on steroids.

Ive been on the track seen since 1968. I peaked between 72-81.i turned coach after that. When i received Most Valuable in '73 I ran the same as what I just saw. The training method was so different that in the relay I was head to head with the fastest as was able to pull away. The training made anyone with white genetics into black and beyond. To prevent injury required special supplements, massage, rest strategy and physical training never seen before. It is possible to tap into a level of speed and power that borders the supernatural.

That’s inspiring to see! It is good that black athletes, after experiencing discrimination, have now found so much success. But the pendulum swung too far, with many white athletes being dismissed for their skin color, especially in track, basketball, boxing, American football. More and more impressive white athletes have been ignoring race and finding success, however. I hope to see the world become more and more colorblind, more and more focused on the individual.

Sprinting is how fast the neuron can fire(Neuron Conduction Velocity). The muscle will fire as fast as the brain allows it. The temporal sequencing of the fire of the muscle fibers is key. So brain power. That’s why age slows down the athlete, the brain ages. I’m curious to find out if the fastest sprinters has a more developed temporal region of the brain.

this is such a one sided ridiculous argument... my daughters all run track and we are literally the only white family at the meets with exceptions of maybe 2 or three other families... the amount of blacks that start there kids in track is astronomical in regards to the numbers of other races of people that's the reason they dominate. my daughters first year in track and they were getting top 3 every meet one even made it to jr O. if more races actually ran track you would see more races dominating...the fastest 60 Meters is ran by a short Chinese guy I mean come on this race talk has to stop already... just like in any other sport hockey for instance you don't say blacks suck at hockey because they are black they just simply do not grow up playing it... if more blacks played you would see more in the NHL its common sense. its like saying blacks are not intelligent just because they don't hold the majority of positions like drs, lawyers, engineers and so on... its simply cultural differences that's all. if more blacks were to try to go for those jobs there would be more in the field and if more white people started running track then you would see more in the sport and thus see more white champions its common sense, I hope someone out there catches my drift... its a numbers game ps Mac mcclung has more vertical then anyone in the NBA as does all the other pro white dunkers like Jordan kilganon etc. so that myth of whites can't jump has been busted as well...

A very good point! It is the same reason why Chinese dominate in table tennis or that there are very few black elite swimmers ... Cultural differences! -But I would also like to add that black people in general are growing up poor and therefore cannot afford expensive schools, thus the difference in certain jobs that might require higher degrees of education. Just like few black families can afford to send their kids to practice golf (Tiger Woods being the only exception!) or other expensive sports. Ice hockey for example requires a lot of expensive equipment. Then we have the fact that having to run a marathon just to get to school - one way - and then back! Or to get a bucket of water ... through savannah and scorching heat ... probably barefoot! That should make for a good foundation in stamina "training" ...

You thought you did something, huh, first of all, most black people don't run track that's the first thing, so most out of it, especially here in Jamaica, most aren't even in a sport, you battling against a small portion of blacks, don't even get my started on Africa, cause see out of nowhere gout gout becomes the fastest teen in history, from Africa not Jamaica or UK or us or wherever else, Africa what's that's tell you, you make no sense, vertical doesn't translate to athleticism, that's the next key point to keep in mind, besides you said the pro Whyte have more vertical on what planet 😂😂😂😂😂 dude the most vertical in the NBA is Michael Jordan, and it's not just vertical that dude was blessed with, he was just simply built different as to why everyone even till this day is still trying to compare to him, you speak of pro Whyte, not talking about even then the blacks still hail above them, 😂😂😂😂😂 it's not different than genetics cause y'all age faster than every race in planet earth, so what now is that a myth too, y'all have a bigger population than the blacks and the blacks still owns y'all, 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 not to mention bro Africa and other diaspora of blacks haven't even gotten into many of these sports yet, y'all struggling against 99% black Americans 😂😂😂😂😂 to the point it has gotten to where only blacks begin to battle blacks, now blacks are seeking to out do each other's records. You obviously don't understand black people at all.

Nice, but you forgot Konstantinos "Kostas" Kenteris, the Greek athlete who won gold medals in the 200 metres at the 2000 Summer Olympics, the 2001 World Championships in Athletics and the 2002 European Championships in Athletics, making him the only European sprinter (along with Linford Christie) to win the gold medal in all three major competitions and the only European World Champion in the 200 metres races. Additionally, he has won two gold, three silver and two bronze medals in the European Cup.

What can one say with certainty other than black sprinters have an inherent advantage, always have. There are a lot of white sprinters who are just a trifle slower than the blacks but still very fast, but never enough to dominate on the world stage. Lamaitre was certainly very fast, and worked very hard to be his best, but could never achieve dominance over the blacks on the world stage. It's just a fact of life and genetics. Thanks for posting this very interesting subject.
